According to the German portal of T-online and based on news from Webnoize, KaZaa was sentenced by a Dutch trial to suspend the filesharing service within 14 days.

This will also affect the filesharing providers of Morpheus and Grokster, since both are using the same software provided by Fasttrack. Both providers are also currently sued, but the cases are still open.

 That just bites!

Well look at Napster. They got shut down but someone will always come along in their place.

Kazaa is the same as Winmx right? So that whole dbase is probably gone. I hope audiogalaxy stays around because I find the best rareties with them.

Nooooo not Kazaa also, I just deleted close to 500 songs to speed up my computer. I thought Kazaa was immune to being shut down because they don't have any songs that go above 128 kbs which is less than CD quality. Why is the music industy so set on ridding me of my free music.

LOL Cal - Santa should send you a burner so these music misfortunes don't happen again.

I suggest Limewire. you can d/l it here:

Limewire (http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-1896420-100-7814644.html?tag=st.dl.1857922.pop.1896420-100-7814644)
The only thing is that you have to have Java installed in your computer. If you don't want to hassel with that, try imesh:

Never used that one. I have been using Audiogalaxy since Napster got shut down. I have a feeling they will try to target Audiogalaxy next.

All I have to say, is those above listed music sharing fluckers were the ones who polluted my computer with spyware!

I would rather go out and buy the CD. :)

The way I look at it is if one goes down then there is always 5 to 10 more that will spring up.

Remember... the music industry may be winning a battle here or there, but the net will win the war!

What war? Why should record companies be philantropic? I think it is unfair to whine just because a free music provider gets shut down. I agree that music is expensive, but so are books, movies and everything else.

The Robin Hood mentality is hardly creating jobs or more tax revenue so we can pay for the REAL problems out there.

I just found Grokster...and found all of the old songs from the 70s that I loved. (Shawn Cassidy, David Cassidy, Andy Gibb, Leif Garrett....I could go on, but I'll just digress!) I have BearShare on my 'puter as well, and my cousin told me about G.

As far as the music industry is concerned, the songs that I have wanted and have looked for, I could never find. I've used this medium just to find the stuff I can't find in the stores. Otherwise, I just go out and buy what I want.

Ooops, forgot to ask my question.

Those who use Grokster:

I downloaded the songs that I want, and saved them, but I can't find them in My Documents file to open them on my MusicMatch Jukebox to burn them. Is there another way to do so just from the site where I downloaded them?

I have to admit to being REALLY new to the whole burning thing, so any help will be great!!!

DD, go to the file pull down menue, I believe you can select "Add mp3 files" or something like that. It opens up a screen to look for the folder that stores your d/l'ed files. Once you've found it, you can add them one at a time or all at once. When you do that, you'll see them appear in your MusicMatch list. Hope that helps :)

I understand your point and even agree to an extent. Don't forget though that there are a lot of artist's who like the idea of sharing their music online. For a lot of poeple it is the best method of gaining exposure.
