Lenny Wolf like Ronnie James Dio, is an ecentick musical genius who does things his way or not at all. It is the type of mentality the can doom an album and turn it into just another beer coaster or become a piece of artistic rock n roll greatness. After Lennys last effort in experimenting with mechanical sounds on Kingdome Come’s “Perpetual” album I did not have much hope for this new album but Kingdome Come’s “Ain’t crying for the moon” jumps out the gate with a fury with the first track then settles in with the hypnotic familiar rhythms we have come to know and love from this band. I began to have flashbacks of good times and lost friends from the 80’s. The album brought out feelings of nostalgia which later on I would see Lenny was feeling that too and was back in top form. Three out standing songs on the album are “crying for the moon” a reflective ballad about ones mortality, “bon scott” ever want to know would it sound like if you mixed A/C D/C with Kingdome Come, well on this song you find out. Then there is “remove the sting “ a balled that the music alone makes you want to cry; there is even a beetles influenced song on there. For the newbie’s out there Kingdome Come is a one of a kind band and at times as a zeppelin like embellishment to them which they have both received applause and criticism for but once you here a kingdom come song you will always know them when you hear them. This is a great album with no bad songs; but there are 2 songs that are weaker than the rest on an otherwise perfect album. Get out there and buy it and place your vote for the return of our brand of rock n roll, our kingdome has come.
