Like it, but kids can be so cruel.
I was always picked on about my name
Esmeralda Oviedo. I guess that is why I am such a tough @ss, I always got into fights in school because of my name. Unique names are great when you are an adult but awful when you are a kid.
Take it from someone who knows.

I've got two boys so if I ever manage to get a daughter, my favorite names are Kayleigh and Tabitha. For another boy I like Tristan.

For another boy I like Tristan.

Cool name! ...and I totally would go with it, but with a name like Tristan for a boy, he might be looking at a couple of rough days from time to time from some of the other kids. :(

Yep, I like it too, but you will usually find that some kid named Tristan got beat up by Vinny and Eddie. ;) LOL

Boy : gunther ( nobody would mess with a gunther )erwann, yann, ian

Girl : Gwendoline.

Screwball name, uh ? well Erwan and yann are from britanny ( west of france ) where my dad is from. They have a language derived from gaelic. It's cool, they even hold europe interceltic festival, which I'm dying to attend to ( we get to be drunk most the time )

For a boy, Joshua, of course! I always liked Shane, too.

For a girl I like Leah Dawn, but I'd probably go with Jessica. Kaye Lani is a beautiful name, so I would maybe look up some Hawaiian names before deciding. :)

Well, since we're finished with having anymore kids, I'll just tell you the names that we did choose for our kids and what our grandkids names are.

Son: Shaun (he likes to spell it Shawn)
Daughter: Tiffany

Grandaughter: Hailey
Grandson: Walker

Can you guess where my grandson got his name?

Too bad you didn't really confuse him and name him Sean.

As for the grandson, I have no clue.

Is this a Pat Benatar reference?

I never did like the spelling of Sean. We liked the way Shaun Cassidy spelled his name and that's where we got it from.

Nope! My son, wife, and daughter-in-law
were all "Walker Texas Ranger" fans.

My kids are the three "D's" lol All of their first names start with the letter D. It wasn't intentional until our last one was born. Starting with the oldest they are: Daliana Rene'e, Denton Craig, and Demi Marie.

I like a lot of the names posted on here. Olivia and Gwendoline are very pretty.
For a boy I like Jack. It is just a strong solid name. That's this week anyway. ;)
My kids names are Sydney, Buster, Pinky, Bolt, Sierra and Penny. Ok, they're all dogs and horses. :p

I want a daughter so I can name her "Strawberry". Don't see the humor in it? My last name is "Fields". :D

ValJ

Shakey, I thought the last time we had this thread we had convinced you to go with 'Elusian' Fields?

Red, I LOVE that name, Daliana. Very unique and feminine! If I ever have a daughter (or can convince my son to have 6 kids so I can name one), I may have to steal that. ;)

Okay Sarg, me and five million other Paddy's named Seán are comin' ta getchya. :p

For me, a girl would definitely be Daria. From one of my favourite novels.

A boy I haven't really thought about too much. Probably Noel, my Dad's name and my middle name.

Val, all my kids first and middle names are family names except Daliana. When my wife was about halfway through her pregnancy we were discussing names. We were having trouble agreeing on a name (we knew at this point that we were having a girl). She started saying a bunch of names and just blirted out Daliana. She made it up! We agreed immediately that was the name we were going to give our firstborn.

Sydney is my daughter
Ryan is my son :)

funny I didn't realize it until a year after my daughter was born that there is a recurring S&R in siblings that goes back about 5 generations :)

I was named after my great-grandmother. Just the first name. I ended up sharing her initals though. lol Just kind of odd. My mom had no clue when she picked my middle name this would happen. :)

My name is not so original, Sis. I was due on Valentine's Day, so I was gonna be stuck with that name, but I guess I hated it in the womb, because I was 4 days early. So I got Valerie. I don't love it, but it's better than Valentine. ICK!

Carsten? Whatīs that for a lumpy (still canīt get over that 'camp' ML) name? *LOL* :D
Given the fact of your last name...that would surely cause some raised eyebrows. Or you marry me...then it fits again. ;)

Yeah, we didnīt manage to have some descendants so far, but of course we had some talks about this topic. Here are my choices (which havenīt to be necessarily the choices of my girlfriend :D):

Girls: Catriona (the Gaelic version of my g/fīs first name), Ann-Kathrin, Maire, Victoria

Boys: Magnus, Darius, Rory (now thatīs a choice of my g/f...all Runrig-fans will know ;)) and...Sean (to get all Irish folks here on the good side :))

Note that all name are chosen for the spelling and not for any deeper meaning within.

Names for children?? Pets? Argh... I doubt that I'll ever have any pets and children I'm not sure about but here are a few possible names:

Boys: Alexander, Rasmus, Graeme, Nikolaj, Keiran & Sebastian

Girls: Sophie, Victoria & Niamh

Haven't really given it too much thought though..... :)

Niahm ? well i didn't think of it, but the more i read it, the more i like it. Yeah, It's great. May I borrow it from ya ? Well it's a bit far fetched for france, like I once considered gwynn, but the meaning in french is.... let say ya don't wanna know ! But on a personnal level, i still love it !

To answer your question from the German perspective: Iīm also thinking that Stig is a Scandinavian name. Never heard it in connection as being a German name...we have all the Heinz' and Huberts and whatever here... :D
I know that my first name also originates from the Scandinavian area.
But, with some parents actually calling their kids 'Pumuckl' (a Bavarian cartoon figure acting in the real world), everything is possible...

I like Tristan too for a boy, but don't you worry Vinny and Eddie won't be beating up my son I'll make sure he's prepared for his first day of school, hey I'll teach your son as well. I also like the name Tristania for a girl, hhmmm, I also like the name Angelus for a boy and Devaney for a girl. I have lots of names I'd like to name my kids but I'd either have to have a bunch of kids(which I can't imagine happening)or I could give them more than a few names I do.

I grew up in Luxembourg and went to an international school so naturally I learned all the bad words first...... had to defend myself when insulted in French, no?? *lol* It's not a word I use though....... Not very twisted or kinky at all....Now why would you expect it to be twisted and kinky anyway, eh??? :D

Hehe - I thought so - I desperately tried to pronounce Stig with a German accent but cracked up laughing every time :) Hmmm - we've had some major debates over names in Denmark too. Some (daft) people wanted to call their son Superman. Some people have really unfortunate names - there is a guy in Denmark called Tom Jerne - now that seems innocent to you guys but Tom means "empty" in Danish and Jerne is pronounced the same way you'd pronounce the word for "brain", i.e. my name is Brain...Empty Brain... :p

Zel - Graeme is actually pronounced more like "Grey M" :) And I'm nuts about that name - maybe because I'm very fond of a guy with that name :D
