Just got word from my sister that my cousin was found dead today. 42 years old. John never really found his place in life. Drugs, alcohol, and hard living caused him to try to kill himself in 1991,(I found him slumped in his car with a self inflicted gunshot to the abdomen) he had a heart attack in 1996 and they suspect he passed from another heart attack. Leaves behind one daughter who is 9.
We weren't close, but when I lived in Mississippi briefly we did have a nice relationship.

Lots of family drama for him, his dad disowned him, his wife left him, he never had a close relationship with his mother (his parents were divorced). He was raised by my grandmother, and after she passed away a few years back, he said he had no reason to go on.

Rest easy John. Maybe you'll find the happiness that has eluded you.

Ron, I'm very sorry to hear this news. Even though you wern't close, STill, you know?

Seems like he lead a hard life but nobody deserves this.

That poor man, and his poor little girl :( I hope that he finds peace now.

So sorry to hear this Ron :( I can relate unfortunately, because I also deal with a sister who is 'lost and unhappy' with her life. She also has made numerous attempts to end her life via drug use, alcohol abuse and 'cutting' herself, the most recent attempt being June 26th of this year. She also has 3children who love and adore her, but unfortunately for her, it's just not enough.

I pray that the rest of the family can pull together to be strong for your cousin's daughter, to help her deal. She needs that right now. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time :hug:
