I heard this earlier and It doesn't bother me at all, I have nothing to hide and I wouldn't care if the secret service wanted to come to my house, tap my phones, bug my car, if it makes for a safer world go ahead.

Well if the govt. is listening in on my cell phone calls, I hope they are enjoying themselves as much as I am :)

Is it just cell phones? or does it include land lines too. I got the feeling it was everything.I can't help feeling a little violated, but this isn't the same world we knew as kids. They need to do something to keep it safe, and I don't have anything to hide. So It's Ok.

How does them listening to ABC's phone calls make you feel violated? Are you a source? ;)

I wouldn't want them listening to any of my calls, cell phone or otherwise, but since I'm not plotting to take over the world or commit mass murder, I think they'll be pretty damn bored if they did.

Of xourse I care about privacy, I never said I didn't. I meant, that I don't mind giving up some of my freedoms and privacy if it would help stop a terrorist attack. Besides they aren't listening to every call, they find suspicious or irregular patterns and tap in on those phones.

When dealing with terrorists, privacy should not be an issue.;) I am all for tapping phone lines or doing whatever can be done to get them sob's!

They are simply looking for suspicious patterns. There is no way in HELL they would possibly have the time to listen to every single conversation out there, especially since I think that they know that probably 99% of the conversations that are happening are completely useless to them.

I don't know why it's a surprise to anyone that this is going on. Law enforcement agencies of all kinds for years have used patterns in behavior to help to map out what criminals are doing. They have also used them to help track down missing persons and to help exonerate the innocent.

This isn't about privacy, since nobody's privacy is being invaded.

And Dude111, sure we all care about privacy. But the truth is, if they are doing anything that affects me, I sure don't know it, because I am doing nothing wrong. I think that people who have stuff to hide are the ones who should be afraid.

Perhaps there were some things I missunderstood. And as far as ABC is concerned, Never worked there, never will. Hope that clears that up.
