View Full Version : Our New England members, we hope you are safe
BrandyBlue 5-15-06, 12:12 PM There is a lot of flooding going on right now in some parts of New England (New Hampshire and Mass right now) and the weather front is moving up toward Maine.
If you are living where it's raining and flooding, please let us know ASAP that you are okay.
I know that a lot of people are being evacuated--here, we have roads dropping out, houses sliding into each other, houses flooding, dams breaching, etc. Luckily (knocking wood here) we are up quite high here where I live. The next towns to our left and right are in some really, really bad shape.
We want to know that you are all okay.
KimJoy69 5-15-06, 12:33 PM WOW... it sounds SO horrible! I've seen some of the news coverage.
Like Brandy said... yall check in with us, please. We're all thinking about you!
Roemello 5-15-06, 12:52 PM Da Roem's juuuuuuuuuuuust fine  There is some major flooding in town here too, but thankfully none where I live, though it makes getting around a real pain in the arse... roads closed off all over the place and all due to the floods on lower ground. Ingrid actually pointed out a pic someone posted on another board last night of the McDonalds not 5-10 minutes away from me... so to give you an idea...

Crikey! I wonder if that's where all our bad weather is coming from? It's been raining a lot and we're expecting rain all week.
Hope y'all are safe and warm!!!

 Yeah, I guess they wanted it super-sized!
Glad to hear that you are okay, Roem, and we hope that your home, friends and family and others important to you remain flood-free where you are

The problem is that the storm is stalled and the ground just can't take anymore--it's supposed to start midweek and we are supposed to get another wave of it on the weekend.

I didn't think it stopped raining in Ohio!
There is a report that suggests that three different potential hurricanes are starting up, too, so I am sure that this is probably a big part of that.

Glad to hear you are okay Roem. I'd expect something like that in Seattle but not New England this time of year.
OMG! That looks terrible. I hope things have settled down some. Has anyone heard from Jodi?
80sTrivia 5-16-06, 04:33 PM I hope all of our members in New England are warm, safe and dry...
80's fanatic 5-17-06, 11:37 PM I'm o.k. Jen* Thanks :) Luckily, my area didn't see the flooding that the northern parts of Mass and New Hampshire saw. I talked to my baby sister who lives in Haverhill, Ma..... near the Merrimac River, which is about a mile away from her house is flooding over, but she says she's o.k. and that she's thankful that her apartment complex is on a hill. My mom lives in Manchester, N.H. and she got a little flooding, but the two towns near her got major damage, one was even closed because the roads were washed out !!!!! Thankfully, my mom's o.k. Thank God, we finally saw some sun today !!!! Unfortunately for the already saturated areas of New England, we still have some more rain to attend to later on in the week. I hope it all goes away quickly, so we can all recover and clean up. Please..... stay safe to everyone who is in the affected areas :)
Yikes!:yikes: I hope all New England Xchangers are someplace safe and warm!
