March 24, 2006 marked the 20th anniversary of this timeless masterpiece. Van Halen's 5150 is one of my all time favorite albums. I think it's the best album they've ever done. To this day, the albums best song is "Dreams", because it's so anthemic and powerful. I remember the first time I heard it was in 1995 when I was I think 9 years old, and I heard it at the end of "Power Rangers:The Movie" (like I said, I was 9!). It (Dreams) really is a lyrical and musical masterpiece. Of course, there's also these highlights:

Good Enough
Why Can't This Be Love
Get Up
Love Walks In

among the rest of the songs on the album. This was the first Van Halen album to ever hit #1 on the charts, and it eventually sold 6 million copies! Anyone who doesn't own this timeless album should go out and buy it now. Something special oughta be done to celebrate it's 20th anniversary (I've been celebrating anyway I can!). I think that a special deluxe edition should be released. I'm thinking the package should consist of the original album with bonus un-released tracks, PLUS a whole bonus CD with demos, outtakes and live tracks, AND a DVD featuring the album in surround sound, the music videos for "Dreams", "5150" and "Best Of Both Worlds", plus "The Legacy Of 5150" documentary, featuring interviews with Sammy, Eddie, Alex and Mike, plus Don Landee, Mick Jones, and a few other people. BTW:The Legacy Of 5150 isn't a real documentary, it's just a name I thought up for if a documentary for the album were to ever be made. Anyway, I love 5150 so much. I got it on vinyl, cassette and CD. And I also own 2 of the 4 7" singles from it, and soon I will recieve the remaining two. 5150 gets a 5 out of 5!

And now, the legendary music video for Dreams, which featured the US Navy's "Blue Angels"!

It was and still is a great album. It marked the debut of the New Van Halen with Hagar on vocals. My favorite song off the album is the title track "5150" mainly for the guitaring.
