Joanou preps 'Sharky' redo for Warners

Phil Joanou is attached to direct Warner Bros. Pictures' remake of "Sharky's Machine," being produced by Basil Iwanyk. The original movie, released in 1981, was directed by and starred Burt Reynolds as Sgt. Tom Sharky, a vice cop who puts together a team to hunt down a group of brutal bad guys. The movie was based on a novel by William Diehl.

How exciting... a fourth-rate remake of a third-rate movie most people have never heard of... it should rake in the money at the box office...

The ONLY two things I remember about this movie were:

1. Burt shoots a guy through a door, in the face, with a shotgun. (never check the peephole)

and

2. The scene where the guy gets shot and falls out the window of a high rise and falls about 50 stories to his death (and the only reason I remember that is because HBO would show the 'how they did it' special about four hundred times a day)
