They're a pretty cool band consisting of Mike Rutherford, Paul Carrack and the late Paul Young. My favourite song is "Word of Mouth" from what is probably their most unsuccessful album.

Not sure how HARD rock they are, but I love THE LIVING YEARS.

Of the choice given, I love Silent Running (even the video is memorable).

But I also liked a few other songs not listed, namely "All I need is a miracle" and "Taken In."

I voted for the haunting "The Living Years". Such an beautifully written song that can bring a tear to my eyes whenever I hear it...

I'm surprised that All I Need Is a Mericle and Taken In were not mentioned in the options. They are both awesom songs.

The promo clip for "A Beggar on a Beach of Gold" is fabulous. The band have gold coins that replace the lens in their sunglasses. I wish I was on a beach of gold right now. The video is top class fantasy.

Tell you what, I've recently download 'Here Comes The Night' by Mike And The Mechanics from one of the various Miami Vice Soundtracks - and put simply it's brilliant!

Living Years drove me up the wall because it was way overplayed. I still hear it on the radio too much these days and change stations whenever it comes on.

i like silent running because it has some mystery to it i think. but all i need is a miracle is great too. they both sound really really 80's.
