That is an interesting listand some of the info is interesting.

The list is from Blender which basically kisses the ass of any hip hop/ rap performer. As proof..-> "Alice in Chains were always in the shadow of the twin peaks of Seattle rock, Nirvana and Pearl Jam."

*IMO*
Blender sucks ass! AIC music will be around for generations. Sure they came out in the grunge era but they are one, if the only band that made music from their soul. They got unfairly labeled.

WOW... no Steve Clark (Def Leppard). I'm surprised. :(

Nope, no steve Clark, no Eric Carr, no Cliff Burton..........

But we do have some 'dj' from houston in the top twenty that I've never heard of.

Blender lists always suck.

And I agree TC :thumb:

Notorius B.I.G. and Tupac at #2 and #4.

Give me a f*cking break. First of all, they're not "rock stars". Second of all, I think John Lennon's death was a little more important to the music world.

B.I.G. ahead of Elvis and Hendrix. :6ohboy:

Daffy, I had that problem too. Open another window, then go back to the original one, and it will let you open other pages to see 40-1.

I would of thought for sure there would be a mention of Stevie Ray Vaughn on that list before some of the other artists they came up with.

This is an absolute travesty! George Harrison is to far down the list! Granted he shouldn't be as high as Elvis, Lennon or Hendrix but to be down that low is just wrong!

Finally! Thanks for the help Jasper. I actually think the top 10 was pretty darn good. There are so many great losses in rock it's hard to just mention 50. This list could easily been 100. Some notable names missing...Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Sam Phillips, Wilson Picket, Beach Boys (as long as they're doing the group thing), Sid Vicious, Bobby Hatfield...I could go on and on too.

I do have to admit I have never heard of that Houston DJ either.
