View Full Version : Sirius Radio
Not sure if this actually belongs here or not..if not I have no probs wiht it being moved..:) I have Sirius radio on my Dish and soon will have it in my car. They have just about any kind of music on there you can imagine, but there are only 2 I listen to. Channel 8 which is nothing but 80s rock of all kinds..I have heard songs on there I hadn't heard in AGES! Then theres CHannel 23 thats all 80s hair bands and heavy metal. Sirius radio ROCKZ with the 80s.. if you have Dish Network, check it out! Sirius 8 is channel 6008 and 23 is 60023(on mine anyway but I think its the same on all of them).
Satellite radio is definitelythe way to go, but I'd take XM over Sirius. More channels, more music variety, more sports, and O&A. :D
Dude, no offense, but listening to O&A on the XM that Direct TV just put on, and they are not that great. Pretty boring actually.
Either way, satallite radio beats commercial radio hands down.

Bro, no offense....but you can't "get" the O&A show from a couple of casual listens.
Ask Not Man, he'll tell you. ;)
Well, if I listen to three hours and find NOTHING funny, how long do I have to wait?

This is exactly why I picked Sirius over XM. I LOVE Hair Nation. I only switch between this one and Big 80's. There are quite a few other good stations but Hair Nation is entirely worth the money. Satellite radio - no matter which one you go with - is so worth it.

If you listened to three hours and found nothing funny, we need to check your sense of humor!
Alot of the humor you need to listen for awhile to get aquainted with the show and the cast of characters. However, if you ever heard the Celine Dion bits or the Mike Tyson or Jim Breuer stuff and still found that not funny, have you considered working as one of the Queen's Royal Guards?
Just kidding bud, obviously not your taste. Stick with Hoo Hoo, I mean Stern then. ;)

Exactly, Satellite is the only way to go. One thing though, XM has the same type of channels. Hair Nation = The Boneyard. :D
I LOVE Hair Nation! I like the Big 80s channel too..especially becuase alot of the original MTV VJs are now DJs on there..its like listening to MTV in the days when MTV was cool and ROCKED!
Rigormortis 12-02-05, 05:35 AM I've had XM for several years now. Some of the best money I ever spent. As soon as we sell our house I plan to buy one of the portable units that can also be used in the car and at home. Can't beat it for $150. I get pretty good use out of it. I listen to the 60's, 70's & 80's channels, Deep Tracks, Top Tracks, The Boneyard, Fred, Ethyl, Lucy, Soul Street and BASEBALL, BASEBALL, BASEBALL!
As for the talk shows, one sounds pretty much like the other. If they feel like I need to hear them laughing to know when something's funny, I'll pass. I've got a fifteen year old. If I want potty humor, I'll hang out with him and his friends for a while. (Who am I kidding? I could call my 43 year old friends and hear the same stuff.)
I love my XM and can't imagine going back to regular radio. It has pretty much everything and anything you could want to listen to.
Not Man 12-02-05, 07:11 PM In all honesty when I first started listening I didn't find them all that funny, but that was back on day one when they first made their appearance on satellite radio. Now I can't go a day without listening If you want to talk not funny Ron and Fez. I am waiting for the day that Stern fails so badly that sirius sues him for the $500 million that they thought he was worth :duh:

Tell' em Fred!

Good to know. :yesnod: However, when I was researching, Hair Nation stood out to me over Boneyard so I just went with it. Glad to know there is another option, tho! I was thinking BY was metal for some reason so apparently, I needed to research more! With me and this type of stuff, you need to have it spelled out and Hair Nation did it so I went with that. lol Mike and I love Sirius so will keep it. Although not a big fan of any of the DJ's.
Not a PC thug 12-02-05, 08:05 PM I now have XM channels on Satellite TV, so I can listen to the boneyard. I like it better than Arena Rock from the cable network. I've thought about getting XM for the car, but just haven't done it.
BTW, what is O&A
Brand1974 12-03-05, 03:12 PM I am asking for Sirius Radio for XMAS. The thing I like about Sirius is the fact that it has the NFL on it.
