Hey All,

I just had to post to this particular forum to let those of you interested know what Rick Springfield has been up to! Well, a lot actually!

To start, in 1998 he released his first album in 10 year Karma (which features such great songs as "***Free***," "It'salwayssomething" and "Prayer"). And he actually toured to promote that album (and himself of course), for 2 1/2 years and will continue to do so this summer!

He is now headlining a HUGE show in Las Vegas called EFX-Alive (at the MGM Grand... Check it out if ever in Vegas)... And on top of that has released a LIVE CD with all his hits from the 80's with a few songs from Karma and his upcoming remake single of "Gloria" (originally recorded by "Them"). The CD of course can be found in a store near you!

RS has a pretty large and active fan base (hence this email (LOL!!)). And many great sites out there promoting him as well (hence mine that I work on: http://www.ricktopia.com -- stop by if you can!).

Not sure if I'll meet any huge RS fans on this site/board...However, I do hope so!

Thanks for reading this far and allowing me to post (and hopefully, I posted correctly (LOL))!

Have a great day,

Hi! Yes, you definitely posted correctly! Thank you for this Rick Springfield update! There are some RS fans here and there, but not enough! If you get a chance, mention 80sxchange.com to the RS fans in that email list you mentioned. Rick Springfield was a huge part of the 80s and I think it would be great to have more of his fans here amongst us! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

The only bad thing about RS is that he stopped making music at the height of his popularity and went into acting. Of course, my wife appreciated seeing him on her soaps! But, I am glad that he is back at it!

Big RS fan, here! I never saw him live until the "Karma" tour a couple of years back. Its funny seeing 80's bands now. I've seen both Rick Springfield and Loverboy in concert within the past few years, and its just a bunch of us 30 something women swooning. Pretty funny.

Red..........I don't mean to correct you, but Rick started out on GH in 1980. He was labled the "Doctor that sang", and went on and recorded Working Class Dog while still on the soap.

Rick Springfield came to australia in i think 2006/2007 as a part of The Countdown Spectacular 2 tour. It was pretty much made up of people who were one hit wonders i.e Doug Fieger (The Knack), Plastic Bertrand, Sharon O'neil and other acts that were more well known like Martha Davis ( The Motels), Samantha Fox etc The good news is that it was released on dvd. If you look it up on e-bay you should find it.
