Description:

Alternative pop song, late 70's early 80's, maybe from UK. Lovely happy sound, melodic, dancy. Not played on the top 40 radio stations, played on the alternative radio station (2JJJ) here in Australia back then.

Vocals: The girl singer has a highish, breathy, very melodic voice. No backing vocals that I recall. Similar to Honey Bane -"Turn me on, turn me off" or Cristina - "Drive my car", and "Disco clone" (neither of these 2 have anything listed on their catalogs that seem like it).

Music: Drums and bass driven, gentle guitar, strings. A woodwind instrument comes in in small places, such as an oboe or clarinet. Kind of new wave - or actually, "No Wave" disco style, that was common in underground circles at that time.

Lyrics: The only lyrics I remember are in the chorus - "You can run (or hide) away, you never know, you never show (or go)", and from the verse, something about "my naked body, Ah-ahhh". The song ends with "you can run (or hide) away, you can run (or hide) away, you can run (or hide) away", and the beat stops, and the strings fade.

I'd be forever grateful if someone knew it and could tell me who sung it and what it's called.

Cheers, Graham
