View Full Version : I Think My Floor is Haunted!

Okay, check this out. At the same time, almost every night, I keep hearing what sounds like someone running down the hallway on my floor in Tanner. I didn't think too much about it at first, but then other people on that floor have been asking me about it, and noone knows who it is. It's not really hurting anything, it's just noisy. But I guess the men's side has been experiencing the same thing, only there's nobody there. Weird, huh?

Then there's the rooms. Most of the rooms on my floor are usually pretty comfortable. But the girl's room across the hall from me, as well as my own, has several cold spots. They don't stay just in one place, either. I've felt one over by my west closet, by my computer desk, and sometimes even by my bed. It may not be a big deal, but it's kind of freaky.

Your thoughts...?

Could be someone playing a prank. As for the cold spots in your room, mine in the hall that I stay at has similar problems. Is your room located on the end of a wing?

Its Mr. Shrek running by  . Wooden floors usually shift and move. Its like a house settling down. It ECHOS memories of days events. As for cold pockets, I have no idea, except maybe a draft is coming in thru a crack in the wall.

I think its your mind playing tricks on you. Ghosts are not real. We are so conditioned to the typical ghost characteristics, like cold spots and hearing sounds, that I feel you mind "sees and hears" what is not there.

I don't have any advice for you because I don't believe in ghosts. But maybe you could call like a ghost hunter or something  They are even listed in the phone book from what I understand. ;)

Sometimes when I'm lying in bed I get a faint vision of Joe Pesci's face in the hanging plant in front of my bedroom window, and even *I* know it's just shadows I still sometimes get a little creeped out.

Ha... what a situation. I do believe in ghosts (not the the ones like in movies of course). I heard things like that in an old house I used to live. Creepy if you ask me. (Oh if you can rent 'The Others' with Nicole Kidman).... That was a cool movie.

Anyway I dont know what you can do.

But I am so glad I live in a new condo. No ghost there. :D

Very Interesting! :D It is a matter of opinion as to whether ghosts or spirits exist. I was never a believer, until a few unexplained things happened to me, not in just one house but two! Just try and keep a level head and accept that some things are not to be understood or explained. :mwaha:

P.S. Just to be safe, I have a cross hanging in every room of my house! :yesnod:

When I was at university I stayed in an old residence that was drafty and cold. We never saw any thing ghostly but the beer we used to put outside on the window ledge kept vanishing into thin air. ;)

I say get yourself a Oujia board and gather some of those other peoole who have heard it. Sure, it's just a game but a little spooky fun never hurt anyone.
If you think you really have a ghost try to find some history of your building, look for things that would cause energy to remain there.
Don't listen to all these ghost haters... :tease:  Unexplained things happen all the time. However, it's more than likely you just live in an old, noisy building.
Be sure to keep us posted if anything cool happens!

I DO believe in ghosts. I have lived in two haunted houses growing up. In the first house, there had been a fire in a 10 room house we were renting many years before we had moved in. We could only use 6 rooms on the first floor, and the very first room you walked into on the second floor. There were 3 more rooms that were locked because there was still some fire damage and were deemed unsafe by the owner of the house. Anyway, everynight when my parents would go to sleep, my dad would get woken up by an old man who was a ghost. This man would try to get my dad to follow him upstairs to the locked rooms. My dad followed him unreluctantly one night and watched the man go through the locked door, this of course 'freaked' my dad out so he ran downstairs. The next day he talked to the landlord, about what he had witnessed. The landlord told my dad that 'Willie' the old man, had tried to put out a chimney fire years before, and was killed. The landlord then told my dad that 'Willie' was trying to show my dad how the fire started, and had done this to other tenants as well. My dad also told me that he never felt threatened by 'Willie' but there was no way he would've gone into those other rooms, because he didn't know how much damage was there, and didn't want to fall through the floor. As for me, I only saw 'Willie' once.... he popped his head in my room, as if to check on me and my sister and then disappeared....
The second ghost again, only bothered my dad, only this time he would stand over my dad and growl at him. For some reason he didn't like my dad... but he left the rest of us alone. I don't know what the story was behind him. Freaky huh? :scared: :yikes:

Metalfan, as already suggested, maybe you should check into the history of the building... it may or may not give you some explanations
