Launch Radio Networks reports: Is an all-new KISS on the horizon, one that doesn't have any original members? It's possible, according to the band's manager. According to the New York Times, KISS manager Doc McGhee "has been toying with the idea of recruiting an entire band to...don the band's famous makeup." McGhee said, "KISS is more like Doritos or Pepsi, as far as a brand name is concerned. They're more characters than the individual person. I think (new members) have a legitimate chance to carry the franchise."

KISS singer-bassist Gene Simmons doesn't necessarily disagree with that idea. He told Launch that the concept of original members isn't widely held by fans, and it isn't really accurate anyway. "There's no question that there's a core of fans — five-10 percent, my sense is — who believe in original members," he said. (This just BLEW my mind. How the f*ck can he think only 5% of the fans care who's in the band? Proof positive that NOT doing drugs - as Gene claims he never did - warps your f*cking mind!) I saw them in 96, on the farewell tour. I'd never see them again, unless they put out a new album and it had decent material, and they dropped the whole KISS makeup bs and just be a rock band. Of the three times I saw them, the REVENGE tour was thier best, and it only had two 'original' members then.

The reunited band sucked, but it was KISS, so I didnt mind.

But, to think that four nobody's could go around and call themselves KISS and think that people would buy it? Thats just assinine.

But the question is....will this idea enable Gene to make even MORE money?

Ok...I will admit I can't stand Gene..but if he and Paul aren't in KISS...IT AIN'T KISS LADIES AND GENTS! It will be a tribute band..nothing more, and there are already LOTS of those. TO me, KISS in the state its in now..is not KISS anymore. If Gene and Paul want to do thier own things..FINE..but do NOT fluck up years of memories and great music with NO original members. We don't care if they are in the band or not, huh? SAYS WHO? Gene just needs to let KISS go and find something else to make money with if thats the way things are to be! There will be someone who buys into this, guys, whether y'all like it or not, unfortunately. There is always a little sect of weirdos who'll eat up anything if they think it makes them look cool. "This is a Kizz for the younger generation, man! We need a band like Kizz to voice our opinions and play revamped music badly!"

Personally, there are only three or four Kiss songs that I like so it won't bother me one way or the other if they all self-combusted tomorrow. IDEA!!! I wonder if Gene could sell that on video after death and take more money to hell to with him?

I don't know how much truth there is to the talk that is going around about the possibility of KISS touring with no original members but if there is, PLEASE don't ever allow this to happen. As a fan it would break my heart to hear of that happening and I certainly couldn't bring myself to attend a show. The real KISS is at least Gene and Paul. It's YOUR personalities we love, no imitations, no matter how close, could ever do.

Yeah, this is gonna happen. Sounds like Gene has an idea that isn't too bright and he will go through with it. When is the last time he had a good idea that happened.

And I wouldn't doubt it if they keep playing the same old music for the next 20 years, without anything new.

Pagan, to be honest, I think they will too, but like I siad before, I'll not have anything to do with it. The REAL KISS Is all I care about. The "new" KISS will be a highly paid tribute band..imposters, if you will... nothing more.

haha, ya I saw that story as well and my first reaction was the same as yours but when you think about it...why not carry on with other musicians. It WILL become a better band thats for sure and it would be interesting to see what kinda tunes they would write. I say what the hell...bring it on. I will download first and buy after, haha.
