Tommy....aren't their better things for you to become a champion for, other than linking up with these PETA lunatics? :6ohboy:

TOMMY LEE Donates Autographed Drum Sticks To PETA's "Kentucky Fried Cruelty" Campaign
World Entertainment News Network is reporting that MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee has donated autographed drum sticks to a new People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) campaign against fast food chain KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken).
The drum sticks will be auctioned to raise funds for PETA's Kentucky Fried Cruelty campaign to stop the company allegedly abusing chickens at factory farms.
PETA complain KFC "cut the beaks off baby chickens without painkillers, breed and drug chickens to grow so fat that their legs actually become crippled under their own weight, and scald millions of chickens to death every year in feather-removal tanks in the slaughterhouse, all while they're still conscious and able to feel pain."
Tommy's a tool all right! :yesnod:
This is disturbing.....and I know - they are gonna be eaten ANYWAY, but good gosh! :scared:

BrandyBlue 9-23-05, 11:59 AM It's not just PETA being overly zealous, it's true. I know how cruel these farms can be because we were migrant farm workers for much of my childhood. I think that's why I love them all so much, because I saw all that animals can go thorugh.
PETA needs to get back on track, really. They started out as very effective in what they were trying to do but now they put people off with their antics.
Tommy's support would do much more through the Humane Society or the ASPCA or through local area no-kill shelters.
The problem with PETA is that they go off on causes that make no sense instead of sticking to ones that do.
I mean let's get real...comparing pigs at slaughterhouses to Holocaust victims is f*cking ridiculous.
And on top of that, I'm ALL for animals being treated humanely, but where does PETA go next? Do they fly to Africa and start protesting lions because when they kill a zebra they bite off it's nose first so that it can't breathe, and then rip out it's jugular? I mean after all, the zebra is still alive when this is happening, isn't it?
And again I will reiterate, I love animals...but when are we gunna see some of these celebrities going out of their way to pose for billboards and donate to charities helping homeless and starving PEOPLE and children? It seems like the only time they do something high profile it's when they latch on to the PETA bandwagon.
There are plenty of animal causes I am all for. The trapping and killing of dolphins in tuna nets was tragic and unecessary. Lab testing on monkeys was horrifying. Somehow I can't muster the same feelings for chickens, since they're entire existence is to feed someone or something.
And then there's the aspect of which animal to feel sorry for. How come no protesting against exterminators who kill mice, rats, roaches, spiders, termites and ants? Why?" They aren't cute enough to be outraged over? I guarantee that if you found your house infested with puppies that were chewing on the wood and called an exterminator, you'd see people FAH-reeking out over it.
Sounds a little hypocritical sometimes, and unfortunately I'm guilty of those hypocritical feelings myself.
And Brandy, before you get upset with me, I am NOT aiming this at you! Please don't take it that way, ok? :)

2 very excellent points!!
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE animals but....
I think PETA is the biggest bullshit bandwagon there ever was.

No, I completely understand what you are saying :) PETA is WAY too extreme to be effective.
Comparing the cattle to Holocaust victims is just a tasteless thing to say, I agree.
I am not saying people should or should not eat animals, but I believe that animals should have a humane life and a humane death if you are a person who chooses to consume them.
I think that Tommy means well, and that he is doing this to remain aligned amicably to the mother of his children. Pamela is a PETA activist, too.
I want animals to be treated well, too, but PETA takes almost everything that they do too far. They started off doing the right thing and just got wrapped up in having people pay attention to them more than to the animals.

smoothupinya 9-23-05, 05:55 PM Drum sticks? What does PETA think KFC sells. Should of had him donate a tattoo removal, or part of his third leg..........but not drum sticks. PETA....Please enjoy these annoyances.
