...and I LOVED the song but I remember very little about it, so please bear with me.

The video had a guy sitting in an old (looked like a New York) apartment, playing his acoustic guitar as we watched the tennants in the building go about their lives. At one point it showed a heavy-set lady in a slip and I think she was yelling at a man who was positioned under her sink, attempting to fix it.

I cannot remember much else except it was probably out pre-1986 and I think the artist was a one hit wonder (big shock in the 80's, huh?). Oh yeah, the song was probably considered soft rock.

Does anyone know what this song might be and/or who sang it?

Thanks in advance for anything you can offer.

I'm thinking it might have been the song "No Myth" by Michael Penn (Sean and Chris' older brother). It was done in 1989.

The concept of the video (from a fan website says): Video concept: different lives "coexisting" in a single building

My pleasure, glad I could help.

It's one of my fave songs too. Especially the chorus "What if I were Romeo in black jeans? What if I were Heathcliffe? It's no myth. Maybe she's just looking for... someone to dance with."
