I think Weird Al made very interesting videos. All 80s videos were unique. I mean, look at bands now...live videos (who cares!) I can go see them live when they come to town. I want to see their wacky creative side and let their artists run wild in the editing room. Scandal had neat video effects. 80s videos had stories, and you'd be addicted to them like watching your favorite movies. I even liked pat bannetar's "Shaddows of the night" video for it's bizarre creepy war feeling (and I hate war)...so thank god Pat saved the world! Hee hee hee.

Yeah, that's true. I never thought of that. Most videos now are just the stupid concert or some stupid fake concert setup. Wow.. What a damn difference. Why would anyone wanna watch a video of girls going crazy over a band? Wooooo! I'm so impressed!

Hey Sal..I'll moderate this section if you'd like...you had mentioned this in another section..and I'll gladly take on the responsibility if you haven't found somebody already! Speaking of Weird Al...HE'S AWESOME!!! :) I used to listen to a show called Dr. Dimento's Radio program and Weird Al's songs where featured on it often. What a great show that was..all funny songs!!

Okay, Skyklad. You can moderate this section. Thanks. :) And yes, I used to listen to Wierd Al Yankovich too. He was the first tape I had. Beat It, I Want A New Duck, I Lost On Jeapardy, George Of The Jungle, Yoda, hehehe. :)

That rocks. I can't believe you listened to Dr.Demento! Do you know where I could find some old Dr.Demento recordings? I have the 2 cd set, but that isn't even the best of it! By the way, Weird Al is a great guy. I see him whenever he's in town. My sister is friends with him, and my mom was friends with him (during her life), but I was never close with him. He still gives me tickets and passes though..so I always go see him. He is really talented, despite what some people think. Anyhow, enough about Al. Sky, have you ever heard the song "polka-dot undies". It is funny...has a very "Miss suzy had a steamboat" feel to it. Well, enough silliness :)

Mirdonamy - I've seen some Dr. Demento mp3s on this great site. There's something here for everyone. I found it today and there's metal, rock, pop, 80s, and tons of other stuff. Good luck www.napster.com you have to download a tiny program but this is the coolest program. You can listen to it on the site or.... download and listen. Today there was 945 GIGS of people's library's to choose from.

Ok Sal..I'll take care of it! :) Mirdonamy: Dr. Demento was the ultimate!! I used to stay up on Sundays listening to his radio show. I still need to get that 2 cd set but have never seen it around these parts. That's really cool that you have seen Weird Al..I've not had that opportunity..but I will surely take the opportunity next time he's around. I agree too that he is very talented..the way he takes regular songs and adds such humour to them! I have heard Polka Dot Undies....LOL!!! :)

He's good at getting his voice to sound just like the original singers.. Or is that synthesised? hehe Who cares? He even sounded like Luke Skywalker in "Yoda".. hehe

He's not synthesized. He rocks. He can really sing and play the accordian. I have seen it first hand...since my sister is friends with him and all. Anyhow, the double cd set is awesome, and tomorrow I am going to go check out that site you mentioned since I am too drunk now and it is 1:26am on Sat morning :) Have a great night! :)

My very first experience of Weird Al is quite funny (to me anyways - had to be there). I worked one summer when I was 14 for this lodge way down in the Georgian bay. My co-worker and I had a slow day so we were doing the outside windows of the lodge with the tunes on. Well on comes Weird Al with "like a surgeon". We laughed so hard my co-worker nearly fell off the ladder. There began my following because sadly I've never heard any of the Dr. Demento stuff - thats what I get for living in the sticks lol.

I'm going to have to download some of his stuff as Dr. Demento off napster and have a listen. I'm sure it will be funny - UHF UHF lol

I had trouble with Napster. I downloaded it, but couldn't get it to run no matter what. It wanted to sign on somewhere, but I was already signed online. I don't know what was happeneing. Any clues?

What type of file does it save as on your harddrive? Maybe you don't have the appropriate player installed...

What napster was doing was logging onto its primary server. It may have been at a peak time when you were on and then it is usually slow. Give it another try : )

I will try that, thanks :)

So, I have been using napster for a while now. I found many great MP3s there...but recently (this last week) napster is not working. Does anyone else have this problem? Or is it my computer? Anyhow, when are there going to be things like napster that also carry videos? I think we should have the ability to post videos up online for people to download. I guess that would take a year since most people have 56k (like me)..but wouldn't that be great!

Mirdonamy its not you. My sister managed to get on Napster last night for one song and there ways 6000 people on ONE server - they are overloaded and they need to get more servers but they are probably waiting to see what happens in court.

what about good ole Micheal Jackson's "thriller?"

Thriller is a good video! But, I think MTV overplayed it. There are so many great videos that were underplayed. I think the Foo Fighters "Everlong" is a great video (though 1999), but it was definetly underplayed! "The Warrior" by Scandal and "Wild Wild Life" by Talking Heads are also greats! "Fish Heads" by Barnes and Barnes is also fun! Oh Zel, thanks for replying about Napster. I can't wait til it is back up and running at full force!

I used to listen to that show all the time on the radio. Who could forget such songs as "Fish Heads", any Weird Al Song, "Dead Puppies", "Pappa Don't Belch" and many others. I would laugh through the whole show. *wondering if my 80's bought radio would play 80's music only <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START ;) --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT=";)"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON STOP--> giggle*
