Oh yeah it was a pretty funny video too. He was stuck in the sand up to his neck with his band, and a shark kept chasing this guy (lol) it has always stuck out in my mind as a 'fun' video.

My memory is not good enough to name songs but seeing the other lists makes me remember those particular videos...they are definitely some awesome ones. Thriller would have to be my all time favourite!

Wow, to narrow the list of all the 80's videos down to 10 is kind hard, but here goes, in no particular order. Duran Duran "Rio" A-ha "Take On Me" Flock of Seagulls "I Ran" Duran Duran "Save a Prayer" Missing Persons "Destination Unknown" Human League "Don't You Want Me" Motels "Only the Lonely" ABC "Poison Arrow" Arcadia "Goodbye is Forever" Janet Jackson "Pleasure Principal" There's tons more that were awesome!

Hi, Rhempler! Welcome to the community! :) You're right about there being so many cool videos from the 80's. Imaginations were definatly coming up with some original ideas. This is one reason an MTV 80's channel replaying an entire decade would be great. :)

My top ten favorites are all cinderella video's so there's no point in listing them, but I love all the 80's video's. I wish we could invent a time machine I would live in the 80's forever!

Okay I'm new here and I remember the 80s music quite well so you'll probably see me post here often. My top 10 videos (of course I'm a little biased because I'm a Duranie and all so bear with me) 1: Save A Prayer-Duran Duran (Russell Mulchay rocks!) 2: I Ran-A Flock of Seagulls 3: Kate Bush-Cloudbursting 4: A-ha-Take On Me 5: All She Wants Is-Duran Duran (Dean Chamberlain rocks!) 6: And She Was (I'm not sure if that's the name of the song or not so someone correct me if I'm wrong)-Talking Heads 7: Close To The Edit-The Art of Noise 8: Hold Me Now-Thompson Twins 9: Planet Earth-Duran Duran (Being that this video was made before MTV was created it was very innovative at the time) 10: What Is Love?-Howard Jones (Again I'm not sure if this is the right name of the song or not). This is a cool spot I'll definitely be coming back again. Whoosh! Visit My Duran Duran Universe (http://duranduran.iwarp.com)

Hi Simons Flame. Glad to see more Duran Duran fans. What would the 80s be without Duran Duran!?! I haven't seen some of the older videos. My husband has most all Duran Duran video collections and lots of live shows. They are his favorite, always has been. So, I should watch them. But, musically...I absolutely love them!!!!

Ok...Question...Who here remembers the Friday Night Video Fights MTV used to have? What band is the only one to have a second video substituted when facing Duran Duran "The Reflex" that was NOT the Winner against "Quiet Riot's "Bang your HEad?" You got it Def Leppard! I was mega angry about this back then and still I get flustered about it as I feel it was shady of MTV to do this..."Photograph" had won weeks on end then they stick "Rock of Ages" against Quiet Riot and then REVERTED to Photograph for the next week's Video Fight against 'The Reflex' Does this make ANY sense guys? I say Def Leppard are still the undefeated champs as Duran Duran didn't beat 'Rock of Ages' but of course you all totally knew I'd say that...LOL!!!! Anyway my favorite 10 videos would be: 1 Foolin!!!! 2 Rock of Ages 3 Rock, Rock til you Drop 4 Bringin' on the Heartbreak New & original versions, but we'll count'em as 1 LOL!!! 5 Hysteria!! Awesome video!! 6 Animal - yes Zel ya had it pegged right on the head...The Circus one! 7 Stand Up Kick Love into Motion!!! 8 Women!!! The comic book one! 9 Me & My Wine The comedy one off High & Dry! 10 LOVE BITES!!!! This is really my #1 fav but heck THEY ALL ARE!!! WOO HOO!!!!

OMG Sal! I gotta tell ya I used to SLEEP with MTV on my little 13" color tv just to wake up if Leppard came on!!! LOL!!!! Honestly I lived and Breathed MTV back then...In Fact I recall when Nickelodeon had a show with some dude hosting that was the very begining of the MTV era...They would play "Video Killed the Radio Star" along with Kim Carnes "Bette Davis Eyes" and other stuff...I think they called it Nick Rocks back then and it was like a two hour show...The idea worked and VOILA! MTV was born!!! (I am just full of useless info aint I??? LOL!!!)

OMG! What the heck did MTV do that for? I do remember that Duran was beat by Def Leppard (I've got it written down in a Trapper Keeper somewhere). That just totally blows that they did that to Def Leppard. I remember staying up watching that and begging my parents to let me call and vote for Duran every week. I was just crushed that they lost but they did win a couple of times with the live video for Save A Prayer. I forget who beat them out with that one.

Damn I miss that decade *sigh* too bad M2 doesn't have something like that. They're still going through all of their videos from A-Z *patiently awaiting the start of U for Union of The Snake which will probably take a few more days*

Thanks for reminding me about the video fights I completely forgot about them.

I'm pretty sure that Mötley Crüe did the video "Smokin In the Boys Room", Poison did "Your Mama Don't Dance" Could this be the one you're thinking of? :)

Oh Duh me!!!! I was going to put Talk Dirty to me by Poison, then thought Smokin in the boys Room was better. That song is on Motley Crue's "Theatre of Pain" album. It always cracks me up when the principal gets his "bad"toupee ripped off :lol :/ Oh Well I was tired, I like both bands so couldn't make up my mind :lol Thanks for catching the error!!

(in no order)

- Take On Me (A-ha)
- Addicted to Love (Robert Palmer)
- Thriller (Michael Jackson)
- virtually anything by Duran Duran. But if forced to choose, I'd say Rio (basking in the Antiguan sun. Lucky them) or The Reflex (for it's live concert setting)
- Sledgehammer (Peter Gabriel)
- Don't Come Around Here No More (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers)
- virtually anything by Eurythmics (what can I say? Both DD and Eurythmics had a great eye for visuals). But if I had to choose, I'd go with Sweet Dreams [are made of this]

Umm...that's all that I can come up with at the moment. I'm sure there are several more but my brain has turned blank. I liked that the 80s videos (as cheesy and rudimentary as they seem by today's standards) followed a storyline of some sort. Videos of today seem so polished....like a fashion catalogue spread. BOOOOOOORING!!!
