View Full Version : Signs of Life Squier Fans? Rock ME 2-nite!
My first concert in 82" was Ratt opening for Billy Squier and It was the best show I had ever dreamt of seeing...When Billy did "Learn How to Live," My friend Laura & I Cried it was sooooooooo Incredibly powerful seeing him sitting with one other guy, playing it accustically, I tell ya's I was 13 and RIPE for the 80's tunes...The 80's were my generations' sixties and It is so cool to have THIS awesome community to share these experiences with other killer nice folks as you! What was your favorite Squier tune of the eightites? I loved Stroke, In the Dark, My kinda lover, Emotion in Motion and of course Learn how to Live! Rock me tonight was really Hot too! Great video! (Pant, pant) Singing: "My kinda Forum, my kinda forum, My kinda FO-Ru-u-u-m!"
Sal Collaziano 2-06-00, 07:09 PM Sorry I don't know much about Billy Squier.. I just wanted to say that I agree with what you said about our 80's being our generation's 60's... :)
I like his two big hits Everybody wants you (good beat) and Stroke : ) But I don't know too much about Billy Squire otherwise : )
Hi Sal! Hi Zel! (btw, just had to mention that my Step-Dad's middle name was Zel...Hehehehe his first name was Bede so go figure! LOL!) Billy has a greatest hits CD out that if you picked up it would most likely have most of his great tunes...Everybody wants you is off Emotions in Motion the same album that Learn how to Live is on... As a bit of Trivia (when it relates to Def Leppard count on me to relate it for you, hehehehe) when Pyromania was kicking off Def LEppard was not headlining, they opened for a variety of artists and Billy Squier was notably the last as the crowds were showing just how into the opening act they were Def Leppard took off after that...Hehehhehe
Sal Collaziano 2-07-00, 01:13 PM Sorry, Pamster! I don't know much of the music you've been posting about! So it's not that I'm just being lazy! hmm Def Leppard must have been one tough act to follow! Imagine? haha
Blaziegirl 2-07-00, 03:32 PM Billy Squier's got some great music Sal, you need to check it out. I think you'll like it.
I have that cd. I'll have to listen to it on my way to work tomorrow. I like to listen to rockin tunes before work, puts me in a good mood. BTW, excellent songs you listed Pamster.
Sal Collaziano 2-08-00, 03:38 PM Maybe I'll look for some of his songs on the internet. What is a good album of his?
Hi Bonsterr!!! Hi Blaziegirl!!! Hehehehehe, I really was excited seeing him live for my first real show...I wish it had only been when Lepp opened for them as my only wish would be to see Def lepp in the Pyro tour...Sigh.... But back to Billy, I really loved In the Dark as an Album, but for you to get an idea of what he is like I would say Sal, get the Greatest hits CD and give it a go...Signs of Life is the other Album I liked that had 'Rock me Tonight' which is just the coolest song! Emotions in Motion is both a title for a song and an album and I like BOTH!!! Heheheh My Kinda Lover is off that as is Learn how to live and I highly HIGHLY reccomend all the songs I have listed here and in the previous posts... Glad to see Signs of Life in the Squier fans and that his music is living on thru us all! (Def Leppard is a tough act to follow and perhaps I will post a lil Pamster Def Leppard Tivia thread and see if others got facts I don't have...hehehehe!!! Gotta love THIS place!
Sal Collaziano 2-09-00, 03:07 PM First. Def Leppard Trivia sounds really cool! Second, thanks for your recommendation.. I will look for that Greatest Hits album! :)
Blaziegirl 2-09-00, 04:23 PM WOW Pamster, I must have dain brammage I've been caught up in all the hair bands not that, thats bad but because I forgot all their music titles. I only have one of their cassettes, I'll have to buy their cd's. I never hear them on the radio here..
Heheheheheh...I get caught up in Leppard so much that I forgot a TON of great 80's bands! AN oversight I am working on fixing...
Billy Squier has some excellent tunes. "Rock Me Tonite" is one of my faves as well. "A time for all and all in time. We slip beyond the borderline of who we are and where we long to be-e-e. Yeah." Other faves would have to be "In The Dark", "Everybody Wants You", "The Stroke", "My Kinda Lover" & "Lonely Is The Night". I think "Don't Say No" & "Signs of Life" are the only 2 CDs I have of his. I must be slippin' !!
