Is it true that Van Halen is looking to get Sebastian Bach as their lead singer? I've been hearing this lately...

I got an e-mail from KNAC.com about Sebastian Bach possibly becoming their new lead singer. If this would happen IMO that would very cool. He has a very powerful voice that I think would work very well with Van Halen's music. Check it out. :)

Thanks for the link and information. Is Skid Row gone?

I think so. I'm not possitive on this though. :(

I only have their one popular album with "I Remember You" on it.. Are any of their other albums at all similar?

Actually their first cd "Skid Row" was more radio oriented than their others. "Slave to the grind" had a harder edge to it. "Sub-human race" kinda followed the same road as STTG. The best of cd "Forty seasons" has some unreleased material on it. Forgot to mention "B-side ourselves" this was a cd of cover songs.

Okay, thanks. I've never seen the Forty Seasons one.. I'll keep my eyes opened, though... :)

Sebastian Bach would be great as the singer for Van Halen. Gary Cherone has a fantastic voice, but it's more suited for singing show tunes and ballads. Plus his stage presence just didn't seem too rock and roll. I was never a huge Skid Row fan, but Sebastian seems to have the kick ass rock star aura, plus a pretty damn good voice. Skid Row is history. Sebastian's new solo album is out, featuring new songs and live covers of Skid Row tunes.

I might go and buy a Skid Row album other than their self-entitled one... I hear they are pretty good.. And you're right about the 'rock star aura' that Bach has... He would fit in much better and make the band seem younger... That could bring back alot of 80's fans and music alone...

Yeah and it's called "Bring'em Bach alive". I haven't bought it yet. Is it good?

I think it would be great for a tour but not as a permanent singer. Eddie Van Halen seems like too much of a jerk and Sebastain doesn't look like he'd fit the band (personality conflicts) just as friends though wouldn't be bad, it would be awesome. SEBASTIAN BACH live is f*cking insane even though the band he played with for his tour couldn't compare with SKID ROW. laterz

Why did Skid Row break up? Are people just tired of making money? I guess they just didn't get along anymore.. Sucks.... Yeah, if anyone can give a review on the new album, "Bring 'em Back alive", it would be cool..

To this day, the only glammer I have in my wallet is Sebastian! Why? I don't really know, but I won't take him out either! Anyhow, I don't like Van Halen one bit, but I may actually have to give them a chance if they get Sebastian! Sal, you should get Slave to the Grind. It is heavy, and great! I love the self titled album best, but Slave to the Grind is amazing. I have B Side Ourselves and I think it sucked! So, I don't recommend that one. But, the song "In A Darkened Room" on Slave to the Grind is my favrorite Skid Row song ever! You have to hear it! :)

Okay, the next time I'm in the music store, and I see it, I will pick it up. Thanks. :)

I heard from a good source that the new lead singer for Van Halen is going to be ........... David Coverdale. What is every one's thoughts on this? I love it!!! Can't Wait.

12-25-99, 04:41 PM
Yeah I heard something along those lines too. I think they have cut a few demos. I'm not sure about this right now. I mean Coverdale is a good vocalist....but with Van Halen? Who knows it might work. :)

Sal Collaziano
12-28-99, 05:32 AM
Wow! That I would love! Imagine that?! I think it would be like Whitesnake again. It would be interesting.. A Whitesnake/Van Halen mix. As long as it were a mix of the Sammy Hagar Van Halen. I think they'd blend together better than a David Lee Roth Van Halen... What ever happen to Whitesnake anyway? David Coverdale is a great vocalist.. Why would he NOT be in a band??

Blaziegirl
12-28-99, 10:53 AM
Yup, I'm really happy that David Coverdale is doing something. I don't think it will last very long though, because Eddie and David have two very opposite personalities. In any case this could be the first stepping stone for David Coverdale to get Whitesnake back together. He'll probably have to recruit a new band, because Vivian is with Def Leppard, Rudy is back with Quiet Riot, and Tommy is with Ted Nugent, Steve Vai was also with the band at one point. Of course these weren't all the original band members just my favorites.

Well I can't wait for the videos - old van halen and whitesnake videos were my favorites ( no offense to Hagar) the blending of ideas should be Great : )

I don't know all that much about Whitesnake but their album entitled "Whitesnake" (The white album) with the songs like: Crying in the Rain, Is This Love, Bad Boys, etc - THAT is one of my favorite albums ever.. I don't know who the band members were for those songs, but... I have a feeling as long as David Coverdale is doing the vocals - the rest of the sound can be worked around him...

Zel

I almost think that Van halen should get an unknown performer to go with their sound. These guys have matured and their sound is one of a kind but when they incorporate a new member that has a sound of his own it gets a bit washed down. David Coverdale is a good choice but its almost like matching the likes of David Lee Roth with virtuoso's like Eric Johnson or Satriani - I just don't see it : )

Sal Collaziano
1-06-00, 06:10 AM
Well, I don't think it's really happening anyway. I have a feeling that these are just rumors. There was an interview posted on a website but I have a feeling it might be fake. Who knows.. Maybe THESE rumors are fake...

Mirdonamy
1-06-00, 09:25 AM
Yeah, anything can be a rumor now a days! I never liked Whitesnake. I thought they were boring. I give them credit for pulling off some hits, and power ballads, but I wouldn't rush out to buy anything. As far as Van Halen. They need to just call it quits. If it doesn't work anymore, Eddie should just take singing lessons and do it himself or accept defeat! I don't know. If you disagree with me, I will understand...but I think Whitesnake and Van Halen are boring...sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone.

Sal Collaziano
1-07-00, 06:13 AM
Damnit you've offended me! :) hehe No, I'm just kidding.. I'm not a huge Whitesnake fan - but I do LOVE some of their songs.. That one album I mentined has alot of stuff that I really like. They have some really energetic songs. But I don't know about their other albums.. Same with Van Halen.. They have probably 5 or 6 songs that I really like. But like with Whitesnake - I really like them! It's not a thing like with Metallica in their early days. I was a huge Metallica fan!

Mr Sneed

David Coverdale will not be in VH. He is working on his own solo record. The rumor that Coverdale/VH cut some demos is unadulterated bolderdash!. It would be a cool match up though! Sebastian said in an interview that he's too much like Roth (personality) and would probably not get along with Eddie.

Sal Collaziano
1-14-00, 08:23 AM
Sneed, you are the news man of the hour. hehe Okay, well I guess that clears some things up. I wonder what David Coverdales solo album will sound like.. I hope it has some of the sound from that old white Whitesnake album.. What other Whitesnake songs (with Coverdale) are good that weren't on that album?

Mr Sneed
1-18-00, 06:58 AM
Coverdale's solo is supposed to be a blues album! Should be interesting!

Sal Collaziano
1-18-00, 07:38 AM
Blues.. I don't know much about Blues... Are there any rock songs that could give me an idea what Blues sounds like? I don't know the first thing about Blues.. Or atleast I don't think I do... P.S. (blues) would be a great keyword for this message. hehe

Mr Sneed

Blues! Ever listen to Buddy Guy? Stevie Ray Vaughan ? Muddy Waters? Eric Clapton? Rock'n roll came from the blues!!!!!

Hi, I'm new to this board but I thought I would quickly reply to people wondering about Skid Row not being together or not and all I know is that they will be appearing in a night club up here in Regina Saskatchewan Canada March 9. I'm not sure if the whole band is back together or not, but it's been promoted as Sebastian Bach and Skid Row, so there may be some fill in band musicians or maybe the whole original band, so who knows.

Hi, I'm new here but I read your question about whether or not Skid Row is together or not and all I can tell you is that they will be playing in a night club up here in Saskatchewan Canada on March 9. They have been promoted as Sebastian Bach and Skid Row, so I'm not sure if the whole band will have all the original members or not.

David Coverdale? I don't know why, but I am having a hard time picturing this. Of course he is more fitting for the band than Sabastian Bach. David has the aging rock star thing down pat, as do the Van Halen troupe. Whereas, Bach is still a young hard body! ~Rain **Thinking Sabastian Bach is a hottie...**

2-02-00, 10:13 PM
Rain your up late. I've heard on the radio that david started to record with VH but it didn't work out, the DJ also said DLR is now recording with VH but they want to keep a low profile. Go figure :O)

I never really heard what happened the last time - about 2 to 3 years ago right? What exactly happened?

Blaziegirl

The Halen brothers got po'ed at Roth because in their words they didn't like his high an mighty attitude. Roth said somthing that Eddie didn't like so Eddie told him "Next time you talk to me that way, you better you better be wearing a cup!!" I'll watch the interview later for more info but that's all I can remember off the top of my head :O)

Ahhm, hi Phil's.. hehe Welcome.. Why so many usernames? Just curious! Anyways, let us know what's happening with Sebastian Bach and Skid Row! :)

2-03-00, 09:49 PM
Then there was that whole situation with some award show. They had this "reunion" thing, DLR thought they were asking him to come back and they shit on him, basically. I can't remember the whole story..

Wow, I'm out of touch, I thought the old lead singer from Extreme was the lead singer of Van Halen...did that not go over well? Bring back Sammy is what I say.

Sal Collaziano
2-07-00, 12:53 PM
Hi, Sunshine968! Welcome to the community! :) It's nice to see ya. You're from MPlayer, right? Yeah, the old singer from Extreme had some pretty big shoes to fill. To be honest with you, who could really fill them.. Sammy Hagar? David Lee Roth? Come on.. That is just not easy. Besides the fact that since he cut his hair, he just looks alittle dopey to me.

Blaziegirl

The radio said their talking about touring with DLR but no news of exactly when.
