Sal Collaziano 11-23-99, 05:33 PM Okay, I have four moderators so far. But I have lost track... Lipsticc: GlamRock/HardRock Skyklad: Visual Audio Zel: Movies from the 80's NotMan: Heavy Metal Is this correct? If not, let me know.. In the near future, there should be another spot of the main page which says who is the moderator...
I didn't realize you were still here. Saw the moderator list suggestion earlier and thought I'd help out. You may want to delete the thread below this lol. Things are really happening. This is great!
Sal Collaziano 11-23-99, 05:37 PM Hehe, that's okay. I appreciate you starting that topic. Yes, things are happening. Hopefully soon, this place will be booming! Thanks for helping out!
Are you kidding I'm having a blast! It's nice to see the personalities come of out from some of the terrific sites I've seen. I've been to lipsticc's site before, and it was great but the character enriches the site : )
Sal Collaziano 11-24-99, 01:49 AM Yeah - I guess it's like 'behind the scenes' of the webmasters. hehe :) I'm glad you're enjoying your time here. :)
Skyklad 11-24-99, 05:40 AM I'm really enjoying this place too!!! I'm glad I found out about it thanks to Sals good advertising.. :) Too bad I will be out of town for the next four days so I'll have a lot to catch up on when I return to work on Monday!!!
Sal Collaziano 11-24-99, 06:01 AM Oh, boy. You might have a real lot of catching up to do! Hmm.. Well, make sure you mark your forums READ before you leave! Uhh, I hadn't really done much advertising. I posted some ads for about an hour or so but it wasn't really enough. I hope we can get more members here eventually. I'd like this place to be hoppin'! Maybe, when we get enough people, we could make some kind of impact on the music industry by letting them know how much we like our favorite 80's artists who are still in the business! Maybe get them more airplay, etc.. That is one of my hopes for this whole creation...
Skyklad 11-24-99, 06:36 AM I'll be sure to mark then Read...or else I'd be in for a heck of a chore when coming into work on Monday Morning. I'm going to try and get in here at 6am...that way I'll have an hour before I have to actually work!! LOL I've sent out a couple emails to some friends in other states...maybe they'll show up.
Sal Collaziano 11-24-99, 06:49 AM Oh, thanks, Skyklad! The more the merrier!!! In Unity There Is Might! We will bring back our 80's! Well, they'll be back in the 2080's anyway. hehe :) Thanks again!
Not Man 11-24-99, 07:26 AM Present and accounted for. I hope you can keep it running for a long time. Also if I don't get to "talk" to you before tomorrow I hope you have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Mirdonamy 11-24-99, 07:52 AM So, what does a moderator do? I love this place, and I am interested in learning more about how posting works? What is the difference between admin and moderator and moderator and global/local user? Just curious. :)
Skyklad 11-24-99, 07:57 AM A moderator just oversees the flow of the board...deletes messages that are no longer active..keeps the place clean and also makes sure nobody get's out of line (ie: someone just coming in and swearing at everyone without saying anything intelligent or having anything to do with the conversations) stuff like that. The Administrater is the person in charge of this whole shebang..Sal. I'm a local user because I can only post to this one EZ Board..while those registered as Global users can go to any other message board on EZ Board and not have to reregister. Hope this cleared some things up for you..I'm sure some others will explain it as well.. :)
Sal Collaziano 11-24-99, 08:12 AM That's it! What Skyklad said! hehe :) :)
I've put the word out to and anyone that emails me about songs I'm even stumped on I'm sending them here, 20 heads is always better than 1 : ) Happy Thanksgiving to all you yanks - we Canuks had ours way back in October (always have to be a little different ay lol)
Sal Collaziano 11-24-99, 02:09 PM Hehe Yanks. :) Canuks? I didn't know that refered to Canadians. hehehe Well, happy day to you. :) :) And thanks for sending people our way! :)
Mirdonamy 11-24-99, 05:38 PM So, how come you chose to be a local user? I had the choice, and signed up as global. Was there a reason you chose local?
Sal Collaziano 11-25-99, 05:31 AM Just curious.. Who shows local in this thread? I don't see any locals. Who are ya asking? :)
I chose local because I would be more likely guaranteed my name. People love to 'copy' lol.
Sal Collaziano 11-25-99, 12:03 PM Yes, local will allow you to be more specific with your name because it's only local to here. Local to the world means if somebody already has it then you can't use it; and vise verse...
Mirdonamy 11-26-99, 06:55 PM I guess I got lucky, but who would have thought of Mirdonamy other than I! :???? :) I have had this name for 10 years now...even registered www.mirdonamy.com Hee hee hee. I love it, it is the name of my spider :)
Skyklad 11-29-99, 02:01 AM I chose local because I don't frequent message boards that often..only a few "special" ones so I don't really need global.
Sal Collaziano 11-30-99, 01:08 AM Well, I'm glad this place is on your special list, Skyklad! :) And Mirdonamy - since 1989? That's awhile.. I guess you used to use the name on local BBSes, right? Those were the popular things back then... I was on alot of Commodore BBSes...
Hey do you want the moderators to get rid of any threads in the unmoderated areas that are unresponded to for over ie 5 days?
Sal Collaziano 11-30-99, 04:33 AM Ahh, hmm.. Not just yet.. Thanks for keeping an eye out though! I think we'll keep some of the old topics for alittle while just so that new comers can read them. I think we'll be getting a bunch more people in here shortly and there are some pretty intersting topics that they might like to see.. Eventually (within the next month or so) there will be forum specific moderators which means that you can only moderate your specific forum. So maybe before that point it would be a good idea to do that.. But this feature will be good because it will give you sole power of the forum you chose to moderate.. Otherwise, we can leave the old messages up for a bit longer.. Thanks for the offer though! I appreciate it. :)
Well we haven't seen lipsticc in ages and with skyklad gone it looks like there are two moderating positions up for grabs -visual audio and the glam rock Both mirdonamy and Pamster seem to have a real handle and passion on the glam end so maybe one of them would be great as moderator for one of these areas. Just an idea ; )
Sal Collaziano 1-20-00, 03:48 PM Alright, well.. The forum-specific moderator option should be here very soon. There may even be an option to have two moderators.. I'm not sure if this will be but I'm not sure if it'll be a well-liked option anyway. But I'll just wait to fill their shoes until the option becomes available.. It seems like it'll be more official. Especially since the moderators name will be next to the forum name as part of the program. :)
Hey that will be cool finally my name up in lights lol
Sal Collaziano 1-21-00, 05:40 AM Yup! It'll be right on the front page of the forum list. :)
