Do you just hear some songs from time to time that take you back to a very cool moment in your life? I will never forget where I was when I first heard Silent Lucidity by Queensryche. One winter night (Canada - no lol) I'm driving home from work and the snow is coming down in big huge flakes, the road is a crystalized and everything is sparkling and on comes the song and it was just so perfect for that quiet wintery moment on my way home. It still has that relaxing power, I can even smell the cherry airfreshner from my car lol.

"Louder Than Love" by T.K.A. The story isn't so happy so I wont go into it! hehe

I agree, Silent Lucidity will cause all the hairs on your body to stand up. But the two most striking songs that caused my every bone to chill and fall into the power of the music were "one light burning" by Ritchie Sambora and "Anybody Listening" by Queensr˙che. No songs have ever stopped me dead in my tracks like these. They still do everytime I hear them!

Well, the three songs you've mentioned - I suppose they're really good ones! Which albums are they off of? It seems everyone likes these... I'll need to listen to them!

The songs I mentioned were off of two albums, the Queensr˙che album is "Empire" and the Ritchie Sambora album is "Stranger in this Town". That last one is a little blues-y but rocks just as hard as the best of them! :)

Oh, okay. Thanks.. I have the Empire album somewhere but I've never listened to it. I just remember everyone being so disappointed for some reason with that album. I guess it couldn't compare to Operation: Mind Crime - but not alot will. :) I will get it into my car one of these days soon...

I'd say the one that catches me is "The Power Of Love" by Frankie Goes To Hollywood. It was a U.K. #1 hit but didn't do as well here. Every time I hear the song I get shivers. I decided that if I ever decided to get married again that I'd sing that song to her at the reception. Oh no Sal, this Power of Love is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard and coming from Frankie it only makes it that much better. Thanks for mentioning that song Marten: ) I don't remember the exact first video that I saw on Much Music but it was Christmas and this video came on and I was instantly mesmerized : )

Well. This one sounds like a must have then. I'm sure I would recognise it as soon as I heard it.. What year was it popular?

"The Power Of Love" came out in 1984 and was Frankie Goes To Hollywood's 3rd straight #1 from the album Welcome To The Pleasuredome. It's a great album to own. There's even a version of "Born To Run" and it includes "Relax" and "Two Tribes". Marten 80's Nuts - The Music Resource http://www.80snuts.com

Relax? You mean, like, "Relax! Don't do it!"?

One and the same. Sadly, some people only think they had one hit. Marten 80's Nuts - The Music Resource http://www.80snuts.com

Oh, wow. I know that song then! That's a big hit! If "The Power of Love" was a big hit too, then they definatly aren't any one hit wonder!

Actually, I'd think you'd remember "Two Tribes" more than "The Power Of Love". The video shows a wrestling match between President Reagan and Russian Chernenko with Holly Johnson as ref. It definitely gave an unusual side of the Cold War from the British side. Here are two countries posing for a fight with worldwide consequences and they are bystanders. Welcome To The Pleasuredome really is worth getting so you have all three singles including many other great tracks like a cover of "Ferry Cross The Mersey". The song I remember most or should I say Video is Poisen's, Talk Dirty To Me. Man when it starts Brett Michaels is swinging a telephone and the cord is wrapping around his finger, and he goes, "Hit it CC" The music starts and its just - BAM - back in the 80's, getting ready for a date, even as I type.

Thanks for the info, Marten.. I don't remember that video but I know why.. I didn't watch MTV back in the 80's.. I never thought we'd be where we are now - no music videos.. So, of course, I didn't know what I had... Until it was gone. hehe But... That's why I'm lost with so much music.. Otherwise.. BigHair! Welcome to the community! :) I hope you come by often and join in our conversations. :) I look forward to getting to know you and all of our new friends. :) They're coming in leaps and bounds about now... :)

For me it HAS to be when I was up late one evening, before MTV aired the video for the remake of "Bringin' on the Heartbreak" I was at my neighbors babysitting and we had been taping every Leppard video back then and had almost all of them on one video tape. He was my little buddy, but anyway, he DIDN'T Believe me that I had actually seen this video, which I totally described to him and anyone else I could talk to about it. I slept with my 13" color tv on mtv all night every night for almost 2 weeks and it wasn't palyed again. Then, it was one of MTV's First World Premere Videos I got to say to all those who called me crazy, "TOLDYASO!!!!" LMAO!!!! Whenever I hear either version of that song it brings me back to when I was 12 and had just discovered Def Leppard thru that song...My Dad was dying of Cancer and had been divorced from my mom for about seven years. I remember sitting over there putting on my Cover Girl make-up, experiementing in the back room of his trailer, where I stayed when I went over for weekends...It was 81' and I had a small radio that played everything I wanted to hear... Great Topic!!
