I would love any ideas on decorations, advertisements, invitations, contest prizes, ect. on planning an 80's dance. Thanks!

Hi, Suzanna Lee. :) Welcome to the community! Well, contest prizes - Rubiks Cubes! hehe Have some good 80's drinks, like Kamikaze's and Blue Hawaiian (Blue Whale), Sex on the Beach, hehe. Of course, great music. :)

Yes! Pretty easy to get the Rubiks cubes now as well, they seem to be making a comeback. Also, it would be cool if you could find some Garbage Pail Kids! They were all the rage with my kid brother and his friends. As for decoration, see if you can find posters from the 80's. Duran Duran, U2, Kajagoogoo (ack!), Tears for Fears ect... Check at Ebay. See if you can do a search under 80's memorabilia. Drinks must also include Malibu and Coke!

Another cool thing you might want to do - I'm not sure what your budget is like.... In Canada Much Music does video dances - maybe you could arrange with Much Music or MTV to do an all 80s video dance. Short of that try to borrow a big screen tv and borrow some 80s videos off people and play them with the sound off while you have other music going : )

If your looking for a list of music to play there are a few of us here who have music sections so be sure to check out our webpages. Sal has a section back out at the front of 80sxchange for our websites <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

Hope that helps.
