I can't believe this area is so dead.. There weren't many freestyle places to advertise, but I mentioned it here and there.. I guess it takes awhile for word to get around.. This was such a huge type of music in the 80's... But not many big fans here yet...

Sal, I love freestyle...I just don't know enough to talk about it. Maybe we could try to list all the songs we all know and who sings them...so we can all get a good idea of what we are talking about...and others (like me)can learn who sings what! Okay here's what I know: Debbie Deb: Lookout Weekend Shannon: Let the Music Play Gucci Crew: Sally (That Girl) JJ Fad: Supersonic Salt & Pepa: Push It Okay, list some songs by Stacy Q, Stevie B, Nu Shooz and more and who sings "Dreamin" again?

Stevie B - In My Eyes, Dreamin Of Love, Party Your Body Stacy Q - I forgot, actually... Hmm.. Nu Shooz - I think she sings "Two Shy" I forget who sings Dreamin' too.. This was all stuff alittle before my time but I loved it. I have most of it on tape and will let you know who sings what when I get some stuff together... Otherwise, I am looking for some real Freestyle freaks to get onto this board.. I will try to post some messages on Freestyle boards as soon as I can... :)

Yes, you are right, Zel! You are correct.. Hmm Let's see. What are some of the Freestyle songs that I liked (that will maybe ring a bell)... Damn, I just can't do it.. I am going to make some great tapes and when I do I will post up the songs. I guess at work it's not easy to think straight! I can't wait until I figure out how to get cassettes to CD. I will figure it out - maybe even improve the sound quality somehow...

hi i love your site its decent, spaced out and theres not alot of junk or advertisements to confused someone. Also im a freestyle fan and it would be good to see you put those songs onto cd i would like to get maybe the first cd you make free if you would do that. Or i can probably get some cash if its resionable and pay for the shipping and handling or the cost of the cd.

Thanks, Dagreek. I'm glad you like the site. :) If I can get the time for the CD thing I will do it. I'm not sure how good the quality will be. It might just sound like a cassette tape on CD... But maybe not. I will have to play with it. Right now I have no problem with making a cassette tape - which I will try to do this weekend - but my time is very limited. I am running a couple of businesses and starting another so I have very little free time on my hands... As soon as I get a chance to work with converting tapes to CD I will let you know. Otherwise, if youd just like to get some songs that you request on CD that can be done - I know people who do that but they do charge. Very inexpensive I might add... Anyways, welcome to the site. I hope to see ya here often.

Well sorry but i hate things expensive and if i did have a Job i still wouldnt do it. But i rather wait for you and your journey with the cassette - cd. Tell me how it goes i hope my email is here when you click my name so you can email me if you finished your cd making and stuff. Anyhow im just relaxing like usual listening to freestyle on tape, cd and off mp3s. So i hope your site goes good and try advertising it to search engines and joining some sort of 80s link exchange program and make a banner for your site so people off other sites can see it. Another topic to add to your 80's would be: 80's Selling, Trading & Most Wanted. This could be a place where people have to trade, sell or are looking for something dealing with the "Good Old 80's". Thanks for the great ideas, Dagreek. I will work on that stuff now...

Well it would be good to see that cause all sites need those so people know whos selling, trading or who wants stuff. Cause i know some people out there know of sites that sell old 80s videos or has 1980 videos. And it would be very good to see someone sell some or make copies for someone and sell them so people can buy them instead of paying so much cash from other places.

They did produce a 3rd album, but it was missing one of the original trio and was a 1993 release.

Cover Girls (1 in print, 2nd and 3rd OOP). 3rd album was a crossover set in 91-92.
Show Me, Inside Outside, Because of You

Company B (unavailable) ... still being remixed even now by Ultimix etc. Classics all of them.
Fascinated, Perfect Love, Full Circle, Face To Face, You Stole My Heart

TKA (the rockingest male group ... still avail on CD) 2 hit albums. May be reuniting soon
Tears May Fall, Scars of Love, One Way Love, X-ray Vision, Come Get My Love etc.

Sweet Sensation (unavailable) ...
Victim of Love, Take It While It's Hot, Hooked on You, Sincerely Yours, Love Games etc.

Stevie B (still pumping out material)
Party Your Body, Dreaming of Love, In My Eyes, Girl I'm Searching For You

Brenda K. Starr (available as an import from Japan)
All Tied up, Giving You All My Love, Breakfast in Bed, What You See is What You Get,
BK was the original artist of "I Still believe". Mariah Carey sang backup for Brenda.

There were a lot more single hits than bestselling albums during this period, and that list is even larger.

I will post a partial list in a follow up post.

Hope this helps.

One of these days I will have to work on getting all of these MP3's up for people to listen to... Although that may be illegal. hmmm.. I dunno.. Maybe atleast sound clips of choruses or something...

Do you know of any other freestyle fans that you could persuade to come on by 80sXChange? I'm looking to get a more diversified croud in here... We're lacking a bit in this department! (Which is one of my favorites!)

There are so many new freestyles songs coming out.. Some are very good! I have a feeling this will be a great Summer for Freestyle.. It would be really cool if we could get some more Freestyle fans in here. :)

hey you're waiting for ads or sumthin? well, i guess, freestyle is a style that many ppl like - but it's still not Billboard TOP TEN material. plus, many companies probably don't want latinos to buy their stuff, respectively they think that they WON'T in the first place (this is the largest freestyle audience ryt? i mean, look at the low rider compilations...)

Gucci Crew: Sally (That Girl)

that's freestyle? isn't that bass? sure the styles are related - but nevertheless...

JJ Fad: Supersonic

this sounds more like electro inspired commercial west coast rap (i think it was dr dre who also dropped a few very good electro trax back in the wreckin cru days who produced jj fad).... i really like supersonic, tho. funny.

Salt & Pepa: Push It

that's some kinda electro influenced commercial east coast rap track... one of my favourites really!!!
