Happiness On Hold--
We convince ourselves that life will be better after we
get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are
frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more
content
when they are. After that, we're frustrated that we have
teenagers to deal with.

We will certainly be happy when
they are out of that stage. We tell ourselves that our life will
be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together,
when we get a nicer car, when we are able to go on a nice
vacation,
or when we retire.

The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right
now. If not now, when? Your life will always be filled
with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide
to be happy anyway. Happiness is the way.

So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more
because
you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend
your time with...and remember that time waits for no one.

So, stop waiting....
--until your car or home is paid off
--until you get a new car or home
--until your kids leave the house
--until you go back to school
--until you finish school
--until you lose 10 lbs.
--until you gain 10 lbs.
--until you get married
--until you get a divorce
--until you have kids
--until you retire
--until summer
--until spring
--until winter
--until fall
--until you die
There is no better time than right now to be happy.
Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
So-work like you don't need the money,
Love like you've never been hurt,
And dance like no one's watching.
If you want to brighten someone's day, pass this on to
someone special, I just did.

I am passing this on to everyone here <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

topcat, the end of that sounds like a song I know:

"You've got to sing, Like you don't need the money
Love sometimes, Like you'll never get burned
You've gotta dance, Like nobody's watching
It's gotta come from the heart, If you want it to work"

But that is a beautiful sentiment!!

I have thought that way for quite some time. I went through, got out of, and pressed charges against the man I was in an abusive relationship with 4 years ago. He's in jail, and during the 4 years, I have had the great opportunity to rediscover what I want, who I am, and what I ultimately deserve out of life. I have found inner peace, I don't let the negative get me down...I try to turn it into a positive. I am in a much happier and JOYFUL place in my life. Until he gets paroled.......!

Thanks, TC! That piece speaks a lot of truths.

If you wait for that perfect time to do the fun things in life, sometimes you can wait too long, and find out that time runs out on you.

My father was always a hard worker, never taking a vacation to relax or go anywhere. His vacations always consisted of working on the house or helping one of the neighbors fix something in theirs. After some hounding from my wife and I he and my mother made the effort, and took a vacation to Europe to visit his parents after 35 years which was a great happy time for him, but all of those vacations before that one were wasted on work, because he got sick after a few months after returning from his visit home, and died two years later. He always said he would relax after he retired, but didn't make it that far.
