View Full Version : Please Don't Cry When I'm Gone
Amy Livin 7-22-00, 12:01 PM Here we go, the first poem.
PLEASE DON'T CRY WHEN I'M GONE
by Amy S.
Trapped between two worlds
Life and insanity
Searching for a door
Hoping someone will find me
My screams remain unheard
My tears stay undried
There has to be someone somewhere
That will save me from this fight
Once in a while I see the light
Everytime I see it too late
I know my reasons aren't right
But in my head I lost the debate
I might not deserve to die
But it would be cruel to live
Please let me keep my pride
For there is nothing more you can give
For me living is a task
There's no hope I can't go on
There's just one more favor I must ask
Please don't cry when I'm gone
Wrote it almost a year ago, hope you enjoyed. Lots more to come /ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Amy Livin 7-23-00, 11:42 AM Not really. I only wrote like one other poem that can be compared to that one. The other's are all corny cause I wrote them after I fell in love. I also wrote a few songs in my young days. Now I pretty much stick to poems and short stories. Never could finish a novel or a screen play.

Roemello 7-24-00, 02:37 AM If the poem came from the soul and/or heart, there's no such thing as corny /ubb/smilies/wink.gif
I wrote a 75+ page story/movie of sorts like a year or two ago. It would really piss off any religious fanatics out there though. Basically, it's a fantasy tale in nature, but the gist of it is that God is this evil being that's gaining power from the faith and prayers of his believers and once that power is fully gained, he'll destroy the world. A child of destiny then finds himself on a quest to find out what happened to life as he knew it and what he is destined for...
Here's a little exerpt from the beginning:
It was like waking from a long dream...but, now his father and sister have disappeared and no one else recognized him...he dreamt of a horrific demon who ripped his heart and body apart...but it remains just a dream, yet the vision remains strong. Deep within the corners of his mind, he hears it calling. A different world...a world of silence...a world of darkness. He moves towards it, feeling both fear and exhileration. He succumbs and the darkness welcomes him. "You are the one" the demon screeches. Reaching deep within his own heart, he realizes that it is true. Then, in that moment, reality wastes away and dream begins to take shape...
funky eh?

RetroMan 7-24-00, 09:43 AM You know Amy, you could put music to those words very easyly - it flows and has great meaning /ubb/smilies/smile.gif I think it's really something else! most impressed!
As for you Roemello, get out there and find a Director/Producer with some money to throw around!! there's some very dark imagery just in that exerpt

Amy Livin 7-24-00, 10:37 AM Yeah, I know I could. But this one was ment to be a poem. I have other poems that I turned into songs. I might post them someday.
Sounds real awsome Rome. And I totally agree with Retroman. You should get this published.

Roemello 7-24-00, 04:21 PM I never finished typing it up yet. It's all written in an old college notebook. With all the dialogue, it's a lot like a play, but the scope of it spans larger than a play could ever convey.
It's based on a game I played a while back (forget the name), so I'd have to figure out what it was for crediting purposes before anything like that could ever be done. The idea of god being evil is an interesting twist I couldn't resist writing out. There's even sad parts in there...especially the ending /ubb/smilies/CRYING2.gif

Roemello 7-25-00, 01:25 AM Ok, today I re-started what I never finished and began transposing this script/story/play/whatever you want to call it to file. I'm still only at the very beginning though...only two of the main characters have been introduced and there's TONS more to go. When I get enough of it typed up, maybe I'll start throwing some installments up in here.
