It looks like the newest beta of Firefox (codenamed: Deer Park) has been released. You can download it from their site - Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/). Just remember that it is BETA so there could be problems with it.

here's a list of what's new:

Automated update to streamline product upgrades. Notification of an update is more prominent, and updates to Firefox may now be half a megabyte or smaller. Updating extensions has also improved.

Faster browser navigation with improvements to back and forward button performance.

Drag and drop reordering for browser tabs.

Improvements to popup blocking.

Clear Private Data feature provides an easy way to quickly remove personal data through a menu item or keyboard shortcut.

Answers.com is added to the search engine list.

Improvements to product usability including descriptive error pages, redesigned options menu, RSS discovery, and "Safe Mode" experience.

Better accessibility support including DHTML accessibility.

Report a broken Web site wizard to report Web sites that are not working in Firefox.

Better support for Mac OS X (10.2 and greater) including profile migration from Safari and Mac Internet Explorer.

New support for Web Standards including SVG, CSS 2 and CSS 3, and JavaScript 1.6.

Many security enhancements.

I Love Firefox. But my only qualm with it is it's insistance on using Quicktime to handle most (If not all) Audio files! I have a deep dislike for quicktime and only have it installed for playing .MOV files.

Do you use Apple's Quicktime or QuickTime Alternative (http://www.codecguide.com/about_qt.htm) (my preferred choice as it is much less intrusive).

For files such as MP3 or MIDI, I prefer media player. Quicktime loads the files as a seperate window and that annoys me to no end. I've also tried Avant browser..but the code doesn't seem too stable on it! I'm stumped as how to get WMP to work on Firefox....I do everything the support site says to do but it don't work.

For MP3 and wav files, I prefer Winamp Pro over them all.
Midi files I like the VanBasco's Karaoke player.
I haven't tried the alternative....will try it and let you know! (I've been using quicktime by apple ...the full version)

you got that right! Winamp is still my preferred player (although I haven't tried Pro). I use WMP at work, but only because I don't like installing software on my work PC.

About the only real difference between pro and standard (Free) is the ability to burn MP3's to Audio CD (Haven't tried it though).
