Well, now that ECW has officially closed their doors forever and it's owner is now employed by the WWF, we got ourselves some interesting new players in the mix http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif Rhino's just a powerhouse and who could possibly not like little Spike Dudley helping to bring the tag titles back to Dudleyville http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif Now if they can get New Jack, Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, and The Sandman....I'll just mark out ECW style http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//biggrin.gif

On another note, another wrestling organization will be closing it's doors possibly forever. WCW's final event will be Monday. Even if you have a blind hatred of the organization, I'd definitely recommend watching the grand finale....at least flip back and forth. From what I've been hearing, it could be a doosy for any real fans out there with all the possible former world champions that could make a one night re-emergance http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//biggrin.gif

I'm not a big WCW fan, but it's sad to see them closing up. I hope they work something out to open back up. Good to have 2 main companies at least. Helps keep things competetive. Will interesting to watch and see what happens.

Well, it's not a 100% done deal that they'll be through yet....maybe about 90% One thing is definite though...it will no longer be on TNT and TBS. The reason they're finished is because Turner basically doesn't want wrestling on TV anymore. The new boss of AOL/Turner is a major asshole who dispises wrestling.

Three things could happen with this. WCW has two potential buyers right now Fusient (doubtful right now) and the WWF (yes, they're back in the running). Or of course, they could close down.

If they close down, this wouldn't be a very good thing for the WWF. Vince likes to compete to stay on top of the game, but now that there's no competition and he has a monopoly on wrestling, there's a chance he may slip. I hope WCW stays open, but it doesn't look good right now.

Actually, there's also a fourth possibility. This could all be a big ruse on Bischoff's part. The only thing that's absolutely true is that they'll no longer be on Turner TV. It could all be a work...never can tell http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//tongue.gif

A-a-aand lets not forget other WCW wrestlers like Kevin Nash, Billy Kidman, Rey Mysterio Jr., Palumbo & O'Haire... With the WWF bringing in all of the major ECW talent, if in fact WCW closes down for good, the odds are very slim that any of our favorite WCW wrestlers will jump to the WWF because the WWF already has more than enough wrestlers on their current roster.

And another thing! Tonight on Thunder, Kid Kash has a "tryout match" against EZ Money (Jason Jett). My question is, why don't the WWF bring in Kid Kash as well? Or RVD for that matter?! Hopefully Paul E. can talk some sense into McMahon on that matter, but back to WCW; I don't think this whole "shutting down" thing is a work. Check out what I found:

Fusient Media Ventures has terminated its efforts to purchase the WCW as a result of the decision by Turner Broadcasting Systems to no longer carry wrestling programming on its networks.

...This could mean that Vince has a good chance at buying WCW, and when the idea was first brought up of Vince buying, he said he would probably keep maybe 5% of the current WCW roster... Yeah, Fusient is pretty much finished...I knew that tidbit. Their main investor got cold feet and said forget it. It is possible however that Bischoff may have another group. I know Hulk Hogan's been wanting to form his own wrestling organization on FOX and I've heard talks that Bischoff is trying to see if he can strike a deal with FOX to bring in WCW...anything can really happen at this point. All we really know for sure is that they're closing down after Nitro for a period of time. What happens next, we really can't be sure of. Just have to wait and see and hope for the best....

Okay, since I do have blind hatred for WCW, I will try to tune in on Monday to see them get their shot of grace. But hopefully, the good talent that WCW has for some reason gotten and stayed with find themselves in the WWF (especialy Kidman amoung others...)

Ok, here's the latest in a nutshell. The WWF, for all intents and purposes (though not completely official yet) has indeed purchased the WCW. As I understand it, things are just being finalized now. What's gonna basically happen is the WCW will be run by Shane McMahon. Vince is supposedly only keeping those wrestlers whos contracts are under a million bucks. The major guys I've heard he'll definitely be taking into the WWF are Ric Flair and Booker T. It's doubtful he'll be keeping Goldberg on....his $3 million contract's a bit much http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//tongue.gif
