galaga-girl
7-14-05, 04:35 AM
I have heard almost every single line on that list!
I would have liked to have seen some or at least ONE from Ferris, but was happy to see that one of my other fav movies of all time "A League of their Own" got a mention :thumb:

I'm not sure if I agree with Forrest Gump being at No. 40 though!!!!

Casablanca had a few on there. That's a great film!I have yet to see that. I need to make an effort to watch it. :)

Cool list! When you read the quotes back in your mind, you can picture the scene.

It's a good list, but it's the clean list. Now we need a list that includes ALL the quotes from movies. How many quotes cracked you up and were priceless, but included swear words?

"Sometimes you just gotta say 'what the f*ck?" comes to mind.

Or pretty much ANYTHING R. Lee Ermy said in Full Metal Jacket.

Princess

Definitely a lot of good ones there :)

Go rent it now TC...nobody should have to go through life without seeing Casablanca at least 20 times. Still a few moments in it that make me weepy.

Like Pagan said....there's lots that shoulda made it if swearing was included.

Frank Booth (Dennis Hopper) in Blue Velvet is a walking quote machine.

I don't usually agree with the "lists" that people post on this board, but this one is pretty good. A few movies that have some GREAT lines in them are Before Sunrise, Fletch & Repo Man :thumb:

All About Eve is a great classic film. All the newer movies are built on ideas founded back when this was a new gig, yanno? ;)

You don't understand! I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I could've been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am. ON THE WATERFRONT 1954
The only part I've ever heard anyone quote is "I coulda been a contender."
Why don't you come up sometime and see me? SHE DONE HIM WRONG 1933
Why do I hear it in my head as, "Why don't you come up and see me sometime?" Of course, they play that line when they advertise the movie, I've never actually seen the whole thing.
Plastics. THE GRADUATE 1967
Say what? Was this the punchline or something? How can the word plastics be a great movie line? There are a couple pretty ordinary headscratchers in there....

Joe Pesci as Tommy Devito- Goodfellas
But, I'm funny how? Funny like a clown? I amuse you? I make you laugh? I'm here to ****in' amuse you? ..How am I funny, like a clown? What is so funny about me? What the **** is so funny about me? Tell me. Tell me what's funny. ...
Joe Pesci -as Nicky Santoro- Casino
I think in all fairness, I should explain to you exactly what it is that I do. For instance tomorrow morning ill get up nice and early, take a walk down over to the bank and... walk in and see and uh... if you don't have my money for me, I'll... crack your ****in' head wide-open in front of everybody in the bank. And just about the time that I'm comin' out of jail, hopefully, you'll be coming out of your coma. And guess what? I'll split your ****in' head open again. 'Cause I'm ****in' stupid. I don't give a **** about jail. That's my business. That's what I do.
