OK, let me start this off by saying I absolutely LOVED the ECW promotion.
Now that Paul Heyman is in the WWF camp, has anybody noticed how much TV time the old ECW guys are getting? Rhyno has a belt, Raven all over the TV (and they let him talk), Jerry Lynn debuts, and gets a strap, Spike Dudley gets a nice push, and Lita gets (gaps!) time on the mic to challenge Chyna.
Kurt Angle and Benoit get to have an actual 30 mintue WRESTLING match, and they about stole the show at WRESTLEMANIA with thier mat wrestling, which is unheard of on a PPV, let alone a WWF "sports entertainment" era WRESTLEMANIA.
Would all of this happen if Paul Heyman still had his little company operating at the Bingo Hall? How much influence does Paul have over the story lines in the WWF? A lot from what I see. Why else put Elroy Holly in a drunk wrestler angle? (but it was funny to hear Heyman scream about how no person should wrestle under the influence when one of his biggest names in ECW was the Sandman).
I love Paul Heyman, and he is getting to be a better charector on the mic playing heel against JRs babyface. But maybe Vinnie Mac is letting Paul do TOO much TOO fast.
BTW, anybody else hear the little jab at Lawler during RAW when Heyman, while talking about the Dutchess of Queensbury, said to JR "That's the closest you ever sat to royalty JR!" I was laughing out loud!
Anybody else have comments or opinions on this?
