I know Falco did a German version. Did he do an English version that was popular in the US or was that one done by After the Fire.

Falco has done English versions of 'Der Kommissar', but these were remixes and released outside the 1980's.

I have an English version of 'Der Kommissar' on 'Falco - The Remix Hit Collection' cd that was released by East West in 1991.

The Falco version that I have on 45 contains both German and English lyrics in the song

Wasn't Falco the lead singer for "After the Fire?" I'm pretty sure the main vocalist is one in the same person. Either that or After the Fire had someone who sounded identical to Falco.

After the Fire had the big US version of the song in English. Falco's version never charted here. After the Fire's lead singer was not Falco.

Falco had 2 versions. 1 in all german and 1 in half german and english. The After the Fire version is a cover of the Falco song, that was written by the brothers Bolland.
