We had some of the best toys in the 80's..Lite Bright, The Rubik Cube, Slinky, Transformers, Strawberry Shortcake and family, and various hot wheels and barbies. What were your favorites?

For me it was Barbie <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> I am a girl, what can I say! <img src="tongue.gif" border="0"> Acutally, my brother had all the Heman(sp) stuff and that was fun to play with <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

Those little cars that were battery operated that you could drive around your yard...Barbies...Lite Brite...My Fraggle Rock drum set (sadly my parents got rid of it...man that would've been worth a lot)...um...there's a whole lot of other things...but i can't really remember. A year ago I learned how to solve the Rubik's cube (the real way, not cheating)...I've done it so many times mine is falling apart...have to get a new one!!!

My favorite toy as a youngster was my Stretch Armstrong and Stretch Monster! I used to take their heads off and inside they were filled with this weird purple ooze. My other favorite toy was a simple hand-held cassette recorder. My sister and I had countless hours of fun packing that recorder around. For some odd reason, I was fond of recording nature noises (I grew up in the country in Kentucky), and I would record the crickets chirping at night, frogs croacking in the lake behind our house, but my favorite was recording thunderstorms in the summertime. Now people pay money for these sounds on CDs, tapes and "Natural Noise" makers. I could have made millions!!!

I agree, we had some of the coolest toys in the 80s. I didnt have as many toys as the other kids on the block (we were dirt poor) but I do remember having a merlin (?) anyone else remember those? Mine was red & it had lots of games on it. I also loved Rainbow Brite, The Care Bears, & I also had The Rubix (sp) Cube in all sizes. Garsh, Id love to have another one of those, they were so much fun! <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> OH, BTW- did anyone else (the women) own a pair of those huge pom-pom ball things that you wore on the tops of your shoes & or roller skates? I had a pink pair <img src="tongue.gif" border="0"> (Think I may even have an old pic of me wearing them...Yuck!) LOL

Stretch Armstrong! LOL! I remember good ole Stretch! And yes , heavenly, I remember Merlin. I never had one but my friends did.
My sisters had the "cool" pom-pom things on their skates. LOL again. I bet yours were Heavenly. <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

Ya know DJ, I actually looked for the pic of me in those pom poms, but wasnt able to find it (Thank Goodness! *hehe*)
