What is your favorite geek or nerd character in an 80's movie? Mine would have to be Farmer Ted in Sixteen Candles.

Good one Iluv80s!

the best nerds were the Nerds themselves. I loved Revenge of the Nerds (hello pre-ER).

Sixteen Candles was priceless though.

But (the names escape me)Weird Science had the cutest geeky nerds :)

mine was Poindexter from the 'Nerds' film - I just love his really thick glasses and crazy hair. It's hilarious how he screams when he runs into trouble aaaahhhhhhh!!!!!

he's a stud man.

I love the whole gang of nerds from "Revenge of the ..."

Ian and Wyatt from Weird Science were great. But I have to agree it doesnt get much nerdier than Farmer Ted!

Do the punk boys from Valley Girl count???

I guess not, they were punk, not really nerdy. I guess I'll have to go with the Weird Science boys.

I thought Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day Off was a very likeable nerd."Ferris Bueller, you're my hero..." Especially when he trashed his father's very expensive car! Yikes!!!

I liked the little kid from 16 candles.. the one that held up her panties.. you guys know who i am talking about right?
He also played the nerd in the Breakfast Club.
I saw a show last week with him in it.. He grew up to be a very handsome man.. The movie was Hitched... he played a jerk who cheated on his wife. She got back at him by chaining him in the basement.

Hey Milani, that was Anthony Michael Hall, right?

Hehe, I married a nerd, too. (a physics major) I never stopped to think it might be due to my excessive watching of Real Genius. ::eep:: (I mean Real Genius earlier, and not Weird Science, if that's what I said, duh!)

Yup, Jen. That freaked me out when I realized it was him. He looks different now. Not as geeky. Maybe plastic surgery or something?

Didn't Crispin Glover play Marty MacFly's (Michael J. Fox) father in Back to the Future?
I haven't seen Charlie's Angels (the movie) yet, so I don't know what he looks like now, but I imagine anything would be an improvement... (LOL)

You got it MDC. He played the elder McFly on all the Back to the Future movies. But I first saw him when he was a regular on Letterman, back when Letterman was on NBC. I actually knew him from Late Night BEFORE the Back to the Future series.
