I love Madonna so much. She's got such pizazz and spunk, I just wanna dance everytime I hear her music. Anyway, I'm interested to know which of her songs was your favorite.

I think mine was "True Blue" from the album "True Blue". Some others that are "up there" are "Like A Prayer", "Into The Groove" and "Vogue".

Whoa! I don't think I could ever narrow down to one favorite Madonna single....I like pretty much all of her 80's stuff and some of her most recent stuff.

I'd have to say that my top 3 (in no particular order) would be, "Open Your Heart", "Who's That Girl", and "La Isla Bonita" with "Like a Prayer" trailing very closely http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

I have to agree, I like so many of her songs. But one of my favs. is "live to tell." I also like "Into the groove", "papa dont preach", "La Isla bonita", and the most recent fav. is "Ray of Light". I have to say, I really admire her. She has come a long way. I just heard "Holiday" the other day, and thought about how she looked back then, and how everyone looked like her after that, with the "Boy Toy" belt buckle. Wouldnt it be funny to go back in time, and tell her what her life would be in 20 years. I wonder what she would have thought. Ha ha.

My two favorites are "Like a Prayer" and "Papa Don't Preach."

favorites are:

1) Get into the Groove
2) Justify My Love
3) Like A Prayer

FYI: General Magager tells me yesterday I need to watch more MTV in order to relate to my audience better and be more "hip". You'll hear back from this promogirl if I have'nt been driven to insanity or suicide from watching moretrashtv.

DJPROMO,
If you had to watch MTV to know what was hip, when would you watch? During one of the marathons of the TOM GREEN show, during JACKASS SUNDAY, or only during TRL? What a total waste of my cable channel to have that crap on the tube. I need a dish so I can get M2, I hear they actually play music. For all the canadians, is MUCH MUSIC any better than MTV?

Aargh...this is harder than I thought it would be - I guess mine would be:

Into The Groove & Crazy For You

I simply can’t pick a third without choosing a fourth, a fifth, etc so I’ll leave it at those two http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

This is a horrible, horrible question. So many her songs are so good for so many reasons.

Of the 80s, I lean towards Lucky Star... but I mean the 12" mix. It's not much different but it really lets you get into the song.

What an awful question! She has romantic ballads, great dance hits, deep pop hits...

Am I the only person on the planet who DIDN'T like Like A Prayer? I heard a remix once on something like Open House Party or Hot Mixx or something like that and I liked it, but I really didn't care for the album version.

...& I'm well aware I am very alone in this lack-of-like. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

3-05-01, 01:12 PM
Yeah, I've heard that remix...it is much better than the ablum version. Something about the beat..it's just wicked up-beat. Just makes ya want to say, "Yeah! That's what I'm talkin' about!" Or at least that's what it made me say... http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//tongue.gif http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif

So far, no ones listed Like a Virgin.....I personally liked that one. For me, that's what got me to start listening to her and loving her.

Oh, about the question about the Canadian Music channel "Much Music", yes, it is good. I've seen it, and they show a lot of videos.

I knew if I dug deep enough I'd find a Madonna question! :)

My favorite single of the 80's is a tie between: "Express Yourself" and "Live To Tell".

For the 90's it would be the Marvin Gaye remake, "I Want You"

Even more recently, I would have to say, "Music".

I would have to go with True Blue. Into the Groove would be a close second.

I really like "Frozen" and "Crazy For You". For the more upbeat songs, I used to really love "Vogue" (my first dance with a boy was to that song...not a boy I particularly cared for, but still, for memories' sake). Now, I like "Borderline" a little more. :)

Personally, I was never a fan of "Into The Groove," although a lot of people on here seem to have mentioned it. For trivia's sake, were any of you aware that "Into The Groove" never charted as a single in Billboard? According to Joel Whitburn's Top Pop Singles 1955-1999, "Into the Groove" was only issued as the B-side on the 12-inch single for "Angel," and since Billboard used only the standard 7-inch vinyl single as their chart standard for sales (at that time), "Into The Groove" was never seen on the Hot 100 Singles chart.

("Angel" reached #5 in 1985. Yes, it was sold as a 7-inch single too.)

Funny but I was never really into Madonna much (which I think made me a pariah lol).......

I still like the song to this day so I'll have to say it's my fave.
