yeah Zelda really is timeless - I remember getting quite into it on the gameboy. It was one of the first RPGs ever, and has secured a placement in the hall of fame

Have you tried the two new Oracle games yet for Game Boy Color Retro? Oracle of Seasons is like a piece of Nostalgia having all the bosses from the original Zelda....Oracle of Ages will twist your brain in a hundred knots to get through...lol

Sounds good Roem - I love when they bring back bosses and stuff from earlier versions.
It's like they return from the dead!

I know this is a pc game series...but oh well. KING'S QUEST RULES!!! Those were the first pc games to have 16-color graphics...and the woman who made them up, Roberta Williams...also started the pc gaming industry by creating the first games that had graphics....ooooooh, i love that series. -Sarah >^._.^<

I've known about that for months and months and months now PJ Yes it is. It won't be coming out when the system launches, but it will be coming. GameCube's coming early this November (the 5th or 8th I believe) with 5 games....it's gonna be a rat race getting that thing

I just recently beat Ages, Seasons, then the linked version for Ages...no guides, no help, just a slight touch of insanity lol Now I'm working on making sections for both these games for my site I'm also in the midst of going through the linked version of Seasons now...Seasons is a lot easier...except Onox at the end

Sarah mentioned Roberta Williams, who founded the Sierra company with her husband.
They produced ALL the PC games worth getting for a good time. They basically created the Adventure genre, producing titles that no other company has been able to match and probably never will.
King's Quest, that space-janitor-guy series, Leisure Suit Larry, etc.
The LSL series- you will never see another delightfully cheesy game in that line because Sierra was gutted a while ago of all it's worthy people. The new owners said "well, we consulted this guy and his chart, so out on the streets you go."
Btw I now believe the X-Box sucks, and Nintendo is the only one worth bothering with. Sony and Microsoft should go back to where they came from. I respect Nintendo's spirit of quality maintainence.
I don't know about GameCube or the Game Boy Advanced, frankly I may pick up a color GameBoy when they are in the bargain bin, after looking at it's game list. I know that GBA is like $99.98 (as opposed to a hundred bucks) and will play all the old GameBoy titles, but it's not backlit, it doesn't say you will be able to play it through your TV like the GBC, and I don't like new technology, I'm a rebel dammnit :-P

Amen to that Brother! Zelda is (in my opinion) still one of the best series ever.

Now what they need to do is get on the ball and make a Legend of Zelda movie. If done correctly, it could be one of the greatest fantasy flicks ever made. Hell, they got Tombraider and Final Fantasy, might as well throw Zelda into the arena

That would be sweet. Something made in the manner of "The Dark Crystal" would be good. I thought that movie was under-rated.

Back to the topic, how goes the gaming. I am about half-way through "Oracle of Seasons" right now. Been busy the last couple of weeks and my time has been limited. Gonna try and get some play time in this weekend. How is "Oracle of Ages"?

Now you KNOW darn well that if a Hollywood producer is in charge of a Zelda movie that it will not be any good. Forget about Dark Crystal or any kind of appropriate fantasy theme- it would be an action flick, with Link as a hapless fool being told how to do things by Zelda. Also the villian wouldn't be Ganon, it would be Robert Deniro or some junk! I always overestimate Hollywood too, keep that in mind.

They could always make it into a cartoon.....or something with graphics like they had in shrek. -Sarah >^._.^<

Or they could do it the same way they're making the Final Fantasy movie....with similar graphics as the cinema sequences in them...

They COULD but then that wouldn't be falling in line with the current crop of crap they've been peddling in cinema for the past ten+ years. Hey I can't even remember the last time they made a pure cartoon movie for the big screen! That is depressing. Why go on?
Also I must add that computer graphics are a big turn off for me- that includes polygonal video game graphics! There is just something about undiluted cartoons and pixels...like a religious doctrine that should never be tampered with. Computer generated wire-frames are one thing, but digital faces? Eeyech! I don't care how good the technology gets it's just grostesque, inhuman.
Everything in mass entertainment is so dark and artificial. Artificial people take the cake- pretty soon the Government will be using robots to do everything and what will they do with the real people! Why can't anyone share my panic, it makes me feel lonely.
