That reason is Grand Theft Auto III. I know - the first two games were mediocre, horrible graphics and boring gameplay. But this game is different. The graphics could be better, but what it lacks in graphics it makes us for in great gameplay.

The gameplay is amazing. You can steal any car in the game. You can take missions from crimelords and mobsters. You can steal a taxi and drive around earning momey as a cab driver. You can steal a police car and catch criminals. This game has endless possibilities.

If you like driving, first person shooting and mission based gameplay you're gonna love this game!

Hopefully I'll be getting that one for Xmas, Flix! It's on my list to Santa!!!

Another good reason (for all Europeans) is the fact that the PS2 will be way cheaper than the Xbox.
Just read in the newspapers that the Xbox will be available in Germany from March 14th 2002, for about 470 $ - only 170 bucks over the suggested retail price in the US...

Guess that will make the decision a bit easier, since the price for the PS2 has dropped from 400 to 300 $ here.

Hope that the new owners of the Xbox will never see this on the screen... ;)

Didn't get a PS2 for Christmas. I wanted to play the "Mummy Returns" game. Oh, well, I'll start doing my good deeds for the year and maybe, just maybe, I'll get one!! :thumb:

But seriously, I am in the room after the labyrinth and the blocked ladder where I use the wire cutter. There's a boss after that, who just won't die. What weapon did you use? :confused:

Trixter: Get a PS2, but please rent Mummy Returns before forking out $50 for it. It's not a very good game and you can probably finish it, before you have to return the rental.

Flix, is that the boss with the head that looks like a pyramid, carrying a HUGE sword in a room with a staircase leading down that you can't seem to go on? If it is....there is no weapon you can use! You have to keep running around avoiding him, and eventually he goes down the stairs and you can follow. Shotting him repeatedly makes him go down the stairs faster, but you waste a ton of ammo. It's all in how patient you are. Let me know if this was the one you were stuck at.

Uhm... I have a Gamecube. :D May wind up buying a PS2 though if they don't hurry up and release some more games for the Cube. :mad:

That's one reason I didn't rush out to get the Cube as I originally planned...doesn't have what I want just yet :) *prays the Nintendo gods won't kill him :lol:* PS2 is the best thing going right now, so until late next year when my Zelda arrives, this is the system to have...so just grab one anyway and have both Shakey :D:cool:

Pagan, I am past the pyramind fella. I used the big knife and the wirecutter after the prison and the labyrinth. I climb a few ladders and heads down a hallway where he is blocking a door. Do you remember what weapon you took him out with? Any tricks on how to kill this fella?
