Anyone know what happened to the Atari company or the people who made the Atari computer? Did they go out of business, get bought out, etc. The Atari, what version I don't remember anymore, was the first computer I ever used. Just wondering. Also for that matter what happened to Datsun? Later

Atari merged with a company called "JTS". They manufactured disk drives. That company failed in '98. Last I heard, Hasbro had bought all of the rights to Atari. They are now putting out all of the old titles for the PC. I'm sure you have seen them - "Pong", "Centipede", Q*Bert", "Missle Command"...
Datsun? Didn't they merge with Nissan? Think so...

If I'm here and your here doesn't that make it our time?

Lol, I wasted many an hour on my Atari 2600!
I don't have one at the moment but I did pick up the small handheld units that have Galaga, Pacman etc, that you plug into your tv or dvd player. Pretty cool, they appear to be the exact games that were in the arcade, and all in a small battery powered unit!
As for Datsun, they changed their name to Nissan.
Ya but those controllers are TOO SMALL and hard to navigate :(
The Atari 600xl was my first computer back in 1984. I then bought the 800xl, 130xe and finally the 1040st. I still have them all :)
Atari was an awesome computer. The only problem is that they didn't keep up with the technology. While they were proud to release the Falcon with its 65,000 colors, PC were launched with 16 million colors. Atari computer died.
Some games are still released today under the Atari license, but the hardware age is gone.
