Anyone remember Wendy O,I loved her.She was rather underground when she was with the Plasmatics but her solo album(produced by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley)was a great album.everyone should check it out.She will be missed(she committed suicide a few years ago)

I knew she had died, but I didn't know it was suicide. That's sad!

I liked her album with the Plasmatics a lot. Haven't heard her solo one, I'll have to put it on the shopping list http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//wink.gif

She was in a movie too, Reform School Girls.

Ahhh, nobody saws a guitar in half with an electric chainsaw quite like Wendy did http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//frown.gif

Wendy O. Williams sure was a wild woman. I've seen her bust up television sets with an axe, beat up and blow up cars, and all kinds of other things during her performances. She was one woman you wouldn't want to come up against in a dark alley, but she did have some kind of body on her.http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//spin.gif

One thing that not many people know about her was that the last 10 years of her life were spent rehabilitating injured animals. For all the aggression she exibited in her life, very few people ever knew she had a whole other side to her personality, she was a strict vegitarian, didn't do drugs, and was very involved in animal rights. After her days in music she put all her energy into her causes, but normal life left her with an emptness she just couldn't shake.

On April 6,1998 Wendy O took her own life at the age of 48.
Her suicide note read.....

"The act of taking my own life is not something I am doing without a lot of thought. I don't believe that people should take their own lives without deep and thoughtful reflection over a considerable period of time. I do believe strongly, however, that the right to do so is one of the most fundamental rights that anyone in a free society should have. For me much of the world makes no sense, but my feelings about what I am doing ring loud and clear to an inner ear and a place where there is no self, only calm. Love always, Wendy."

I was devastated by the death of Wendy!
I had been writing to her back and forth when she was in the Plasmatics!
I still have her letters...
My fav album was "Metal Priestess"!

Can anyone help me find Wendy O or Plasmatics on C.D. (perferably a compilation of "hits") I tried to order one at Media Play and was told that they were no longer available. Your help would be greatly appreciated

My Wendy O C.D. came in today. I love it. It came with 2 C.D.'s and a note explaining that the second C.D. was a digitally remastered version of the first one. How cool is that? Thanks Cultleader!
