Call the Police, there's a Clash! Yes, that's right kiddies, tonight (Feb 18) at 8PM CST the Police, from 1978 will be the opening act for an amazing performance from the Clash, in 1982, from Kent State. Hal is our new host for this show - more details on him a little later. Be sure and visit 80sAirwaves.com after the show to get links to download either performance via BitTorrent! For Friday February 25th the main concerts will be Roxy Music @ the Orpheum, March 31st, 1979, and a really nice New Order @ Henry Kaiser Auditorium, Oakland California, Aug. 20th 1985. The Kaiser Auditorium was named for a local philanthrope who is closely related to the guitarist of French, Frith, _Kaiser_ and Thompson fame.
Among the John Peel treats will be Screaming Blue Messiahs, Billy Bragg, Some Now Are, and the Slime . . . to preface the Roxy Music show I'll also pull out some Brian Eno obscurities.
Suggestions for future shows gladly accepted: the more obscure the 80s Britpop the better :thumb:
