Yello were one of the greatest bands ever, they wrote beautiful songs that were warm, clever and innovative. Cruelly overlooked, it's sad that they didn't get the plaudits they richly deserved, only being remembered for the very average 'The Race' (which was a hit because it was lumped in with the 'Acid House' scene in the UK) and 'Oh Yeah' (which is a good song, but barely scratches at the surface of what made them so good).
They made at least two albums which i would describe as being amongst the best albums ever recorded.
So What's the best Yello album?

I'll go for 'Stella' because it is such a beautiful, consistently great, great record. Maybe the best record that ever came out of the '80's, it's THAT good. 'One Second' just gets beaten even though this is a great album too, featuring Shirley Bassey and Billy Mackenzie. Two brilliant albums. :thumb:

Well seeing as "Oh Yeah" is the only song of their's I know, then the album I would most likely buy is "One Second", so I'd have to vote for that.

One Second is the only one I have and it has lots of good songs on it so I voted for that one.

'Oh Yeah' is on the 'Stella' album my friend, but both albums are excellent, you certainly wouldn't have wasted your money! :thumb:

Its on One Second as well. My fave off of One Second is Si Senor the Hairy Grill. Great song and does'nt remind me of Yello at all.

Ok, there must have been different versions for different territories because it's not on my version, CD or Vinyl.

I'm not sure about them being one of the greatest bands ever, but the world of music would be much poorer without those two nutcases (and long may they continue) :thumb:

I'll say yes to another excess thankyou ;)

Dont ya love these guys?
I have their video collection on VHS but like 99% of what I own is packed in storage til James comes back from the Gulf.
Funny "The Evening's Young" wasn't on the tape.
Jungle Bill was a good video, oh they did a lot of cool things. They were pretty strange but the music was irresistable.
I liked the video, can't remember the song, where they were dressed as cavemen? "Visiting the planet for a few thousand days..."?
