We're going to our large auction on Sunday. Does anyone want me to look for anything inparticular? If so, let me know. They haven't had a consignment auction since Mid-December so there's going to be alot of stuff..

Just to give you a ROUGH idea...on a typical day (they have 2 auctions a month) there will be approx. 14 wagons full of smalls, 2000 sq. ft (or more) of furniture items, plus shelves full of books, movies (dvd & vhs), cds, cassettes, records. :)

Things will be going cheap since they all want to finish up in time for the Superbowl.

RON, & TEACH,,,this is in New Baden Illinois

Sorry, they didn't have any MONCHICHI's or Recliners today. I did see something that I almost bought for one of you. I say ONE because I wouldn't have been able to decide who to give it to. I can't post what it was, that is another story for the LL

CARE BEARS-----Not there, but there is a place that is open on the weekends that have three of them right now. I don't recall what the colors were.

RECORDS----I did get a huge box of record albums for only $xxx--these are in great condition..no DURAN DURAN but it did hold a couple of treasures...what is believed to be JOHNNY CASH'S first album on SUN label and is worth approx. $75.00..I listened to it and didnt hear skips and sounds very clear! Also, ELVIS PRESLEY'S soundtrack to PARADISE, HAWAIIAN STYLE.

They are going to have another auction on Feb. 27 so be thinking up some more items for me to look for, what condition, and how much. (don't worry, I wouldn't charge a finder's fee :) )

Monchichis, omg how I loved those things.... my cousin still has a bride and groom set that I bought her for Christmas a couple of years back. ;)

Btw, good going on the Johnny Cash album there, Jana! I got a couple of records worth some money, I love them too much to part with 'em though...

OMG, really!!! I'll give you a tip, if you ever see a Care Bear that looks like a horse it is worth over $2000!! It is called Noble Heart Horse and is the rarest of them all!! The second rarest is Playful Heart Monkey, he is worth around $500. Of course this all depends on the condition.

**noting the names of those treasures. :) Is there anything in particular to look for with the care bear line? Ages/marks/certain tags, etc...?

I used to know everything about my Beanies..but not any more.

I am thinking that one of the care bears was yellow, another green, and maybe one was a pinkish color. These weren't the newer ones that you can pick up at Walmart these days because they were in the Antique flea market section and they pretty well check out things before they allow the vendors to set up in those areas.

If they were those colours you would have been looking at Birthday Bear, Good Luck Bear and either Cheer Bear or Love-a-lot Bear. The things to look for are:
Tags - are they there? If they are how much writing is worn off?
Butt Heart - the more writing on it the better! But even if it is all worn off it is OK as long as it is there.
Tummy emblem - if it has pulls then don't get it, this is where the most money is lost
Hair - quite often kids cut their hair, so if it is there and around an inch long then you got yourself a good bear
Eyelids/Tongues - this is more for serious collectors who know which ones have them, but some have eyelids and tongues and if they are missing then they are worth less.
Size - the bigger the bear, the more it is worth. There are three sizes.

Chazz...you have got to come with us then! They usually have tons of shot glasses! Some very old ones, some with advertising on them, some reg. ones, etc..

I usually have a lot of BBQ's during the summer so a couple of years ago, I had the high bid of a box full of blue plastic shot glasses...I wound up getting about 500 of them for about $5.00 !! The girls even use them to make pickle shots and jello suckers in the freezer!!
