Roemello 2-03-05, 01:52 PM It's taken me long enough, but finally... FINALLY The Roem is on high speed internet! :bigeek: Didn't expect to get activated til Monday, but I'll take sooner than later anyday!

Princess 2-03-05, 01:56 PM Way to go :thumb: Now you have joined the rest of us high speeders :D
It's about time :D
Welcome to the otherside - you'll never go back! :thumb:
Lucky bas- I mean, congratulations!!!!! :D
I wish I could afford it! Well, I could, if I could convince the family that we don't really need food....
Oh, how I would love to be able to have high speed! :bouncy:
Us 'country bumpkins' have to be satisfied with dial up... :p
CONGRATS TO YOU - HAVE FUN! :D
Roemello 2-03-05, 02:07 PM  Thanks :) Well, I stuck to my guns and held off on it til it was at a price I liked... at $30/month... can't go wrong! :D
$30 a month?!!!!? Lucky bas- I mean, congratulations!!! :D
We can get it for $20/month for three months...then it's $45.99 if you have cable, over $50 if you don't. And I don't anymore. I got the Dish. And it hasn't gone out at all, even with all the snow. So the cable people are liars and money hungry!
Geeze... I pay $20 bucks a month for STINKIN' dial up! I can only connect at 26.4kbps and if I wanted high speed I would have to get it through dish and it would cost me almost $100 a month!!! No cable out here in the boonies

Lucky you Sis. lol My best friend in florida loses the signal every time they get a good rain storm. Which is quite frequent.
Roem.... good to see you join the speed addicts. ;) You'll never be able to go back now. :p:p
whistledog 2-03-05, 02:49 PM Once you get high speed internet... you'll wanna take a hammer to your old dial-up modem :thumb:
Welcome to the 21st Century, my friend.
Now you just have to trade in that rotary phone, betamax machine, 8-track stereo and horse-drawn carriage!
KimJoy69 2-03-05, 03:11 PM  You mean you've done all this stuff while on DIAL UP?!?!?!?!?! Holy CRAP, Roem!!!
I'm happy for ya! I'll NEEEEEEEVER go back to dial up!! :yucky:
Congratulations Roemello :thumb:
Isn't amazing how fast you can fly through the net?
Yup, you're done now! You'll never be able to go back to dial up again.
chazztnvols 2-03-05, 05:21 PM WOW KILLER NEWS
Now you'll be superman!
80sTrivia 2-03-05, 06:20 PM Welcome to the 21st Century, Roemy!!! You'll wonder how you ever lived without it!!!
Brand1974 2-03-05, 06:26 PM I also upgraded to hi-speed access at the end of last year, and I will have to get a second job before I give it up and go back to dial up internet access again.
Isn't it awesome?
I too pay $30/month since I signed up for the Verizon DSL deal where it's $30 a month for the first year. I sure hope it stays that way after the first year is up.
I love being able to do things that I couldn't do with dial-up which was watch Videos on the internet, download songs, listen to internet radio at 128k stream. 80sAirwaves canned their dial-up stream, so I wasn't able to listen to it anymore.
It's also a lot easier to read this board with broadband, because it would take forever for the screen to load between threads, etc.
galaga-girl 2-03-05, 06:28 PM good on you Roem :thumb: unfortunately we can't get it where I live, I guess we are too far out into the sticks
Roemello 2-04-05, 01:51 AM Welcome to the 21st Century, my friend.
Now you just have to trade in that rotary phone, betamax machine, 8-track stereo and horse-drawn carriage!
Hey! In Salem, we're entitled to our horse-drawns...
Thanks to all... I only had about 10 minutes to enjoy it earlier, but now I plan to get properly aquainted :D I can actually get things done and still have time for recreation on the 'net again! It's a miracle!
nolanbuc 2-04-05, 02:02 AM Welcome to the fastlane, Roem! :thumb: You're gonna love it!
DC Rebel 2-04-05, 02:08 AM Alright Roemy, congratulations!!!!
stlkev70 2-04-05, 02:39 AM Congrats Roem! I will be forever stuck in the dark ages with a dial up connnection! :grrr: :bs:
bookmistres4ever 2-04-05, 03:45 AM Congratulations Roem, you have been warned though...speed is addictive. ;)
By the title of the thread, I thought you were gonna say that you were one of those Mass. Polar Bears that jump in lakes in the middle of winter. Brrrrrrrrrrr.....
Prefab Sprouter 2-04-05, 05:11 AM Now you know how easy it is to hang around here for a while!!!:bouncy:

Val, give comcast a call. I had it for 6 months for, I think $26. Then before that expired, I called them back and got another 3 months. Maybe you can even talk them into 12months? I eat on my tips from work or else i could not afford cable internet.
* forgot to add..congrats Roem! ;)
Congrats Roem  There's no retreat now :D
I pay 65 $ each month for my 1024/128 connection. Rather expensive I guess, but I couldn't do without it :thumb:
