Candlemas (Imbolc) is the Pagan Festival of Lights. It's the beginning of spring in our Wheel of the Year. Although actual spring is still a couple of months away, Candlemas represents the beginning of the end of winter. (WOOHOO!:D) Brigid is the Goddess traditionally associated with Candlemas, the Goddess of healing, inspiration, and fire. Some Wiccans mark this Sabbat by putting a single lit candle in every window to honor Brigid and encourage the Sun's light to grow stronger.

The God is said to be a young child now, and the Goddess is recovering from childbirth. The Sun is gaining its strength, and the natural world is waking up. Now is the time to plant the seeds for future success, and cleansing your mental cobwebs & your chakras.
