Following on from my 'never heard of them/no reply threads'!
It's Laibach!
A Slovenian industrial/techno group who formed in 1980 when Slovenia was part of Yugoslavia. Very political, they consisted of:
Milan Fras
Ivan Novak
Dejan Knez
Ervin Markosek
Never troubling the charts they were signed to Mute (Home of Depeche Mode) in the UK and released dark, industrial soundscapes. Famously reproducing songs like Opus's 'Life Is Life' as thunderous downbeat tunes that completely gave new meaning ro the originals.
Also covering the entire Beatles 'Let It Be' Album.
Their album 'Sympathy for the Devil' deconstructed the Rolling Stones song of the same name with seven different covers of the song.

Their releases feature artwork by the anti-Nazi artist John Heartfield, and their concerts are held as political rallies.

Anyone remember them?

Yes, of course! :thumb:

I had three of their albums, Opus Dei, Sympathy for the Devil, and Nato. Nato was great because it featured a cover of Final Countdown (by Europe) and Dogs of War (by Pink Floyd).

The Sympathy for the Devil covers are brilliant. Really hilarious the first time you hear them. :mwaha:
