Oh, i'll go for 'Strange Little Girl'. Prefab Sprouter 1-13-05, 05:08 AM A great, great band and two of their albums are definitely recommended: "Rattus Norvegicus" and "aural Sculpture" I voted for "European Female" Eric T H 1-13-05, 11:00 AM Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhh! LMFAO as soon as I saw the Stranglers that's exactly what I thought, I bought the first 9 albums as they came out, I'd have trouble just picking one from each album. xistenza 1-13-05, 11:14 AM oh my god, this band is so good! :yesnod: i voted for "always the sun", but let me tell you, it was a tough decision. great poll. :thumb: whistledog 1-13-05, 11:31 AM 'Aural Sculpture' was a wicked album. I voted for 'Skin Deep' Eric T H 1-13-05, 11:45 AM I haven't voted yet as I'm still eliminating choices :mwaha: Bend Sinister 1-13-05, 01:32 PM Although many of the songs listed are excellent, I went for Nice and Sleazy off the fantastic Black and White album :D . I thought The Stranglers went a bit off the boil in the mid 80s, although they still released some excellent stuff - its just that I prefer the stuff up to and including The Raven Bend Sinister :thumb: :) Bogie 1-14-05, 09:31 AM The first one I remember is still my fave...although there is a tremendous amount of good material here. No More Heroes! Prefab Sprouter 1-14-05, 09:40 AM The first one I remember is still my fave...although there is a tremendous amount of good material here. No More Heroes! I love that song too Bogie!! Especially the immortal line "He got an Icepick that made his ears burn" Eric T H 1-14-05, 02:07 PM I've gone for other and I'm going to pick the 1978 remake of 'Walk on by', probally one of the best punk cover versions to this day. If it had been an album track to pick instead of a single, then I would probally have gone for 'Down in the sewers' from the 'Rattus' album. Now I'm going to have a trip down memory lane to my days as a teenage punk, as I dedicate this evenings musical listening pleasure to that of the Stranglers. Take it away Hugh  whistledog 1-14-05, 04:53 PM It's great to see so many Stranglers fans. They are a fantastic group :) Eric T H 1-14-05, 05:41 PM Albums so far listened to this evening Rattus Norvegicus The gospel according to the men in black The Raven Greatest Hits 1977 -90 and currently half way through Black & White :D Recker 1-16-05, 07:26 PM Easy one for me - "Skin Deep". Loved the deep vocals. Chasey 1-17-05, 05:07 PM I agree with you Recks, and voted for the more commercial 'Skin Deep'. Monty007® 12-01-05, 09:06 AM Always The Sun BlitzKid 12-03-05, 11:27 AM I like most of their songs, but i like always the sun a little more. All day would be second choice 80's fanatic 3-12-06, 01:08 AM 'Always The Sun' :thumb: |
