Heavy metal statue honors Ramone
A statue of the late punk legend Johnny Ramone, who died Sept. 15, will be unveiled Friday at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. The bronze statue depicts Johnny playing his guitar (he was credited with creating the blueprint for the propulsive punk style of guitar-wielding), and will be near the grave site of bandmate Dee Dee Ramone. Johnny co-founded The Ramones in 1974 with Joey, Dee Dee and Tommy, the only surviving original member of the band.
