Joe and I went shopping yesterday. We had a 20 minute drive back to town and school was letting out in 30 min.

I found the perfect check out lane (a miracle since people were 10 or more in line..this one had about 4 people and each had very little in their carts)...I stepped in line and he was right behind me.

I felt a bump against my butt...I turned around to kid Joe about his "driving"...SURPRISE!! There stood this woman who was about 84. She had cut in between us.

I did explain politely that we were in line and my husband was right behind me. "I'M IN LINE TOO!"...but he was right behind me when she cut in..."WELL, THAT'S JUST TOO BAD!". Now I'm being not so nice and told her that he was only about an inch behind me when she cut in and told her that we had to go pick up the kids in another town.

A worker saw what was happening and offered to take US at the service desk...we thanked her and started to go over there. ZOOM......FASTER THAN A SPEEDING BULLET....the old lady rushed over THERE!

We had to start all over again and wound up being 15 min. late to pick them up, we even took the interstate back!

There are lots of inconsiderate people who cut in line. The Christmas season is always full of 'em

So how come you didn't just pull Joe up in line in FRONT of YOU? :mwaha: What could that sweet elderly woman do about THAT?

You did the right thing, you wouldn't want to be put in jail for kicking an elderly women's ass.

What is it this year with the elderly? (Remember my OLD GUY AT THE POST OFFICE STORY??? ) Please don't get me wrong, I'm usually always very considerate to them ...I try to put myself in their place....but we had to pick up the kids, feed them dinner, get their baths, and get them back to the school within a short time for their xmas program last night.

I'm just having a bad week I think...but it'll be ok...ONCE I START TESTING MY EGGNOG RECIPES!!

I don't know what it is, but the Christmas season seems to bring out the worst in people, especially when they're shopping !!!!! Some people are just plain rude and ignorant !!!!! I hope you have a better week Jana. :)

I think the elderly are just a little disappointed that they waited so many years to be "respected by the young ones" and are finding out that it still goes both ways regardless of the age. Some people just think they're deserving of everything, based primarily on the fact that they exist. I'm a pretty darn nice guy, but my wife will tell you that if I saw something like that happen near me, I'd have put that old woman in her place.
