There was I show I used to LOVE, around the mid 80s and I'm trying to remember the name. The main character was a big teenage kid with dark hair and glasses... I only remember a little bit of the episodes, but I remember there was one where that guy was building a model plane and sniffed the glue, so the model got stuck to his face... also sometime in the show, his mom had a baby and went a little crazy after the birth. I'm not sure if I'm mixing up two different shows now (I used to watch a lot of them then!), but I think the guy had a friend called "Wheels" or something like that. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? :)

Was it British? It might have been The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole. I never saw the show, but I'm a big fan of the book series & I knew that a TV series had been made based on it. The plot your describing was in the first book.

The Canadian produced series Degrassi High (which was broadcast in many countries) had a character called "Wheels"

Doesn't sound like Degrassi High or Degrassi Junior High, but it might have been the Kids of Degrassi Street, which came much earlier.

This was the first thing that came to my mind as well (read the whole series) - but I didn't it was made for television too... if so, it could definately be this.
