I just finally got my hands on the Alias game for my PC, I installed it and
everything went fine, I have more than the min requirements. But when I
tried to load the game it said that It could not render the game and I
needed DirectX SDK.

I went to Microsoft's site and the download is over 219MB!!! Am I looking at the right thing??? I am only on dial-up and that is going to take forever to download.

Shakey, what do I do??? I NEED to play this game especially since ABC have started running Alias promos for next year, I need my fix :D

It said that you needed to install the SDK to play the game? That's a little strange. What version of DirectX do you have installed? You might try running the dxdiag utility to make sure that Directdraw and Direct3d are working properly. If you don't have 9.0C installed, you could also try that. I see no reason why you would need the SDK installed, unless you were in development.

OK, I just looked and I have 9.0c installed. Here is the exact message I get when trying to load the game:

Warning: Nothing will be rendered.
The reference rendering device was selected, but your computer only has a reduced-functionality reference device installed. Install the DirectX SDK to get the full reference device.
The application will now exit.
